Had a delicious lunch meal here. The service was quick and good. They had a good selection on the menu.

TL;DR - nice but expensive food, flawed restaurant experience, lovely staff.Having ordered from Stixs online a few times during the pandemic (back when they were based in the Stack), I was excited to eat in at their new Chinatown location. While the food is still decent, the experience is a bit flawed; perhaps a side effect of transitioning from street food to a restaurant setting.The location is good, and the restaurant is decorated stylishly, though it's a little dark inside. The music playing inside is too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation.There is a decent range of pan-Asian dishes on the menu, but I was surprised to see how expensive the prices had become. Also, there were quite a few dishes which were unavailable, which was disappointing as it was only mid afternoon. However, the waitress was helpful in recommending alternatives, and her friendly service was a highlight.Each dish came out individually, with some waiting in between each. We ordered the kimchi stew which comes with rice, but strangely the stew was brought out and then we had to wait a while for the accompanying rice. Still, the food was enjoyable - try the super crispy Korean fried chicken.

Trendy Asian restaurant with lots of choice and very quick service.The tonkotsu ramen was delicious.

As far as Japanese & Korean food go in this town, this is one of the best spots to be for me personally. I’ve had the gyudon (shown in the pic), pork belly bao, and japchae; they all taste authentic & traditional.

It was my first time here. I had the Volcano Tonkotsu ramen and really liked it. The staff were very friendly, and the service was very prompt.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Having been to both Japan and Korea, the food here is as close to we've had to actually being there whilst in the UK!Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) Ramen very good, not just the great chicken but a tasty broth - sign of proper authentic Ramen which most places like Wagamas don't get anywhere close to.Takoyaki best outside Kyoto/Osaka we've had too.Friendly staff, nice small simple menu and reasonable prices - will visit again next time we're in Newcastle!

Food all excellent, particularly the pork and kimchi dumplings.

Staff was incredibly friendly and approachable. Food was super amazing and delicious as well. This place is well worth it and I am going to bring the blokes back here next time.

It was better than I thought. The Korean chicken with spicy sauce is quite authentic and tasty. Pork and kimchi fried rice is good as well, at least worth the price. Also ordered stew soup(not in the picture), the soup and tofu were good but pork wasn’t soft enough. Maybe the service could be better but comparably, it’s a nice Korean restaurant to go for. Haven’t tried their Japanese food or other Asian food so I don’t know if they will be as good as their Korean food. Hope they will improve their service in the future.
