Initially, I used the conventional way in an attempt to sell my property, via an estate agent. Since my property was vacant and recently redecorated ready for sale, I assumed the sale process would move swiftly. I was wrong. There was all sorts of drama typified by eg infrequent viewings and substantial haggling re the asking price, which I did not appreciate.As a result of this experience, I compared the prices which prospective buyers were prepared to pay with those of auction valuations/auctioned sold prices. After extensive research and a great deal of informed decision making, I approached First for Auctions. Yes I’d heard all the stories of ‘you’ll never achieve full property value’ etc via an auction, but I’d made a calculated decision which fitted my circumstances and requirements and I was confident in going ahead.Alex Bicknell, from First for Auctions, responded to my email enquiry and explained with absolute clarity and in explicit detail the entire process of selling by auction. There was no bullsh1t. The First for Auction website is a treasure trove of no nonsense advice complete with past sale’s forecasts and sold prices and I’d advise everyone considering selling a property, by which ever method, to take a good look at the information there and have a really good think. I may add, that after my first enquiring approach to First for Auction, I was not pressured in any way to sign up.Alex was incredible throughout the entire process and I will always be thankful to him.
