My friends and I have had a lovely stay at The Lincoln Hotel. Perfect location. Quiet, clean hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Food both morning and evening was excellent. Look forward to returning

Sat opposite the Cathedral this hotel has a great location until the City centre traffic, even overnight and night-time revellers get involved. The room was all you could expect from the price. The housekeeping staff wre very helpful and efficient. Reception was a different matter, or more correctly indifferent uninterested unhelpful and barely polite. They did not seem able to contact anybody else on the hotel staff without physically walking to see them. We didn't even get a bill.

Beautiful view of the cathedral and a great location for walking into the city. The exterior of the hotel is a bit strange as it looks like a tired office building when you approach but the interior was much more appealing. The rooms were nicely designed but would be improved with a bit more attention to detail. For example, the bathroom was nice with a great bath but the shower screen seal was covered in mould and needed replacing. Sounds small but if you are enjoying a bath and that's in your line of vision, it is off putting. Similarly the balcony was great for looking at the view but was very unkempt and wasn't a nice space to stand at. Breakfast was good value for money, especially with the addition of the coffee machine. Again furnishings were a bit tired but the bar and lounge area was a plus. Staff were very friendly. Overall good stay.

I was there for a conference and very impressed with this hotel. They were really helpful when we required extra tables and lighting.I'm vegetarian and was impressed by the variety on offer - not the usual cheese and nothing else. The rooms were comfortable and very clean.I hope to visit Lincoln again and will come here if they have availability.Great view too of the cathedral from my room.

I booked the afternoon tea in advance and they replied to all the emails quickly, loved that. The food was nice, yet couldn’t give more stars since I’ve tried some other places better. However, it’s worth the price and I was happy with my experience.

Proximity to the town is excellent.I would rate it higher for food and service if they were able to provide better gluten-free food.I was promised gluten-free gravy with my dinner, but it never arrived. When they were available, staff appeared to be grumpy and unapproachable. As a prestigious hotel, I did expect better.Hotel management, please note that anyone with a genuine dietary requirement such as coeliac or allergy is having a hidden disability and deserves to be treated as such. It can be an isolating experience when it is not taken seriously or considered with compassion.

Two nights here.Friendly, helpful staff.Excellent breakfast. We could not have had a better location. We had a room with balcony, overlooking the cathedral. Wow. The photo is from the balcony.Very short walk to old part of Lincoln with plenty of restaurants etc.Want to go down the 'steep hill' (very steep) to Lincoln City? There is a very handy bus which runs from directly outside the hotel. There is a £7 charge for the hotel carpark, but that is per stay so I feel good value. If we ever return to Lincoln we will definitely stay at The Lincoln Hotel.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the bedrooms and public area are absolutely filthy. My room hadn't been hoovered, the carpets were grubby and it just had a generally unclean feel about the whole place. The breakfast was adequate, but again it just didn't feel like anything was very sanitary. Such a shame as it is in a fantastic setting and the staff are very helpful but I won't be returning, sorry.
