Templeton Woods Car Park

It's not fancy but the foods fine for everyday dining and the location is great

Great woodland with mountain bike trails and a lovely little skills trail park with a blue and a red run. Lovely place to go for a walk but be warned. After dark the car park can attract people looking for sex and is a well know dogging hotspot. Not really something you want your children to see.

Just a small car park and all very badly pot holed

While touring around the East of Scotland recently, we got slightly lost upon returning from our fantastic day trip inspecting lighthouses just off the coast of Arbroath. Fortunately, we stumbled across this small, peaceful and secluded car park, where we could pitch our motorhome for the evening until the realms of daylight broke upon us. Special thank you to the security guard attendants on hand during the course of the evening who were very kind and attentive, always peering in our windows to make sure we were safe as we watched our repeats of 'Fifteen To One' on our little television in the back of our motorhome, we even had them join us for a cup of tea, even though they left a little disgruntled once daylight broke; night owls indeed we assume!

Facilities good but pricey go get entry. Well worth a visit all same.

M up here n clatto park 4 a walk everyday I luv this place so peaceful n luv th wildlife feed the swans n ducks n everybody's so friendly great place to go 4 ur fresh air xxx there is also a good play park 4 the kids n a good bit o green area to play football or hae a picnic etc n really good walks n the forest there r 3 different routes n plenty parking

This is very close to the birkhill inn follow the path down the hill.Then follow the sign to the the lower path.To the entrance to Clato then the road to wardsDundee a second path at the big trunks turn rightThis will return to the Birkhill

Cemetery visit. The path leading from the main road gate is very muddy and the earth is continually turned over, wear your wellies.

You can have a good day out starting of with a nice walk through the Templeton woods, up around Clatto Park back through Templeton woods. There are barbecue stops for a picnic around the area. There is also a large play park for the kids to play on.

Excellent local nature park but was a bit spoiled today by the fact there was heavy rain a few days ago and the car park was still very muddy and plenty of potholes with rain remaining. Well worth a visit in the dry, but not ideal after some heavy rain, unless you like the mud.
