Ashton Manor Care Home

I am very pleased with the care my mother is receiving at Ashton manor. The staff are kind and attentive and very professional. I am made aware of any problems relating to mums care. She is content and very settled.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Ashton Manor twice this month, and it has been an absolute joy!The team at Ashton Manor are incredibly friendly and welcoming. During my visits, I had the opportunity to participate in activities with the residents, and it was such a heartwarming experience. Seeing the smiles on their faces and being able to join in was truly special.The atmosphere at Ashton Manor is warm and inviting, and the staff genuinely care about the residents. Their dedication to creating a positive environment and providing compassionate care is so great to see.

Very kind staff and good facilities. Mum on liquid diet and the chefs are making nutritious appetising food for her - can't thank them enough.

Dad has been here in respite for four weeks to give me a rest .Although the accomodation is great, the food offering has been appalling. We would not use Ashton Manor again unless there is a significant improvement in the catering.! Elderly people need to be encouraged to eat but the offerings here leavean awful lot to be desired!

We were there to sing carols to the residents. The place inside and out is beautiful. The staff made us very welcome and it was a wonderful afternoon.

Ashton Manor has unfortunately gone downhill since the home got a new manager. There seems to be a huge lack in staff and what little staff they have are temp agency and always rushing around trying to complete their daily tasks. My gran usually looks mildly unkempt when I visit now because the care staff don’t seem to have the time they used to have to spend doing more than the bare minimum, which isn’t their fault when they’re under staffed, I suppose.The home itself is also looking shabby and has started to get that care home smell, which it never used to have. I can only assume the housekeeping is also understaffed now too.We are looking at moving our gran now, which is a shame as it was such a lovely place before, staff always going that extra mile to ensure gran was happy, well looked after and having time to keep her company, chatting, playing games or going for walks. I also never see the activity staff on the dementia floor anymore either which is a worry when care staff don’t have time to spend with the residents anymore.It’s a shame the new manager doesn’t have the same values the old one did in making sure the home focused on “person centred care” instead of cost cutting when they charge a fortune per week for the “care”.

I went to an interview, very disappointed, I was told I would be contacted wether I had been successful or unsuccessful, still waiting

Came here to drop off some items for a resident, I could not gain entry, managers office had a light on but main door locked, no one on reception I tried ringing and being put through to reception then area after area no one answered the phone so had to come away I just wander what if I’d of been emergency services, needing to gain entry as even though I tried to walk around to gain someone’s attention it’s all locked up with codes not a good system
