Welland Vale Garden Centre
Our first visit to the garden centre since moving to Uppingham. Beautiful Christmas decorations, fabulous plants and reasonable prices. Staff were so friendly and the breakfast was second to none. Definitely worth a visit

Orchard Cafe: Good quality food that is let down by the customer service. The younger members of staff are a credit, always cheerful and helpful but the older staff need to learn to smile as they always look so grumpy and don't look like they want to be there.Garden centre: plants are clearly taken care of and some are at decent prices.

Advise you not to go to the cafe. When we walked in they said they had no ham, ham egg and chips were £10.50, so we said okay we will have egg and chips, the response was she won't do that. We went on to have small bowl of chips for £3.50They obviously didn't want to do a couple of eggs for £7.00. We will not be back or indeed recommend anyone going here.

Welland Vale Garden Centre
Lovely place. We had a nice lunch followed by some plant shopping.Service in the cafe was quite quick and reasonably priced but the highlight was the friendliness of the staff. They really made us feel welcome. The food is very tasty and there's some really imaginative options.The garden centre is nice to wander round and there's some good bargains if you look carefully. The staff were again very friendly.

Excellent range of plants,shrubs and trees plus garden accessories.Clearly the staff take their jobs seriously. They are professional yet friendly and knowledgeable.Also,the Orchard Cafe is well worth a visit. Again an interesting range of food and drinks handled by very caring and attentive staff. Dogs aren't allowed inside the cafe but there is an attractive outside seating area. We were assured that good shelter is available in the event of wet weather.

I have to be honest. I liked the old garden centre better! The new design is very smart and the range of product on offer is the same. The new cafe/restaurant is much bigger but I don't like the new design. The feel and prices seem to have gone more upmarket to me. The coffee and cake portions seemed smaller. I'm afraid don't like padded chairs and throws to sit on or sometimes having to be near any of the 6 dog" tables."
