Lovely country pub with great food, live music events and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The venue is dog-friendly and hosts a large beer garden with gorgeous views. There's also plenty of good walking trails in the surrounding area. A hidden gem!

Fantastic place, owners very welcoming, can't thank them enough. Proper little gem, wish I could put more than 5 stars deserve 10. Please check out there Facebook and pub stop over page to see information on up and coming events. Planning our next stop over there already.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. It’s a beautiful rural pub with a cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. Not posh but that’s not what we were after! Instead – good, honest pub food, perfect for a cold Winter’s afternoon. They serve food from 12-8pm on a Sunday, which is great. We will definitely be back.

One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had for years. Lashings and lashings of gravy and the meat was so tender. Not necessarily the most extensive menu but that’s completely understandable as the service is so personal and friendly. Well worth the trip and you will definitely be smiling when you leave.

The owners are a very friendly welcoming couple. The food is really nice, and they're so helpful with providing what you might need to make your experience that much nicer and personal. We couldn't ask for better service, they were really attentive and friendly. We will be returning to such a friendly and welcoming establishment. If you're there for breakfast on a Saturday morning we thoroughly enjoyed our full cooked breakfast in pleasant surroundings in the sunshine. We will most definitely be returning to The Halfway.

Picturesque and very rural 17thC Inn once owned by William Hancock & Co Brewery of Cardiff, passed to Bass in 1968 and Brains in 1999. Now a Freehouse run by a very welcoming couple, Rhiannon & Jason. We took advantage of the free camper van accommodation in the secluded field behind the pub for the 3rd Wednesday Music night. The staff and locals are all very friendly and we were asked to sing! We enjoyed an enormous Lasagne for £15 and excellent real ales (two on pump) at £4-20/Pt. So glad we found this gem of a pub. An excellent evening and we will be back. Many thanks.

The Halfway is an absolutely lovely pub and restaurant. I can see why this is a haunt for locals — the atmosphere is cozy and the staff and landlords are incredibly welcoming. Upon learning that we were visiting the area to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, they brought out a pavlova and a celebratory paper cake. It was just very thoughtful and special!Apart from the service, the quality of the food was stellar. I ordered the parsnip and leek crumble, my boyfriend had the hunters chicken, and we shared the beetroot falafel. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! The pub is very dog friendly, for those bringing their furry friends! We will absolutely return to The Halfway if we visit Monmouth again.
