Tucked inside a 100ft cliff along Wales’ Gower Peninsula lies Culver Hole, an ancient cave sealed behind a stone wall that’s studded with windows and a doorway.It’s believed the cave’s wall was built in the 13th or 14th century. It became a hotbed for smugglers.

Amazing location, didnt quite get to see Culver Hole but we were close! During low tide you need to walk to the top of the mountain and then down to the shore, this is where you can access Culver Hole when it is low tide.

Interesting piece of history. Originally a medieval dovecote. Cleverly constructed in a fissure along the cliff. A bit tricky to get to but worth a look.

Not somewhere you could take children or anyone with limited mobility but it is an amazing place to visit if you ever get there chance. Check the tide times and visit while the tide is out to get inside smugglers cave.

Hard to find the path.If you look at the monument with the sea behind it.Then turn right and walk along the coast for about 80ft.You will then see a faint path leading down.Try and get there for low tide as you can then go inside.
