A lovely pub with great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was present well without being too poncy.Well worth a visit.

Royal Oak Inn Luxborough
Great room...Royal Oak suite. In the main very clean but not hoovered under bed and as this is a dog friendly room this was of concern. Very comfortable bed and slept well for some of the night once pub patrons had left for the evening, gone 11pm on one of the nights.The plumbing for the toilet in this room kept us awake most of the night, regular expulsions of water from the tank above the toilet all night.

Wow !!! What a fantastic place. Staff on entering where so welcoming and friendly. We only stayed for one night so only hung out around the bar, restaurant and accommodation. The food was fantastic, we had Sunday lunch which was perfect, couldn’t ask for more, tasty and more than enough. Stupidly we had an evening meal which we struggled to eat as we where full from lunch, but again fantastic attention to detail in both dishes, loved every mouthful. The room we had was beautiful, tastefully decorated and in keeping with the building. Well done Spencer and your team and thank you for a great experience we will be back. Highly recommend this place for either lunch or a night or 2 away !!

Staff friendly our room slightly cluttered not much drawer space. Food very good prices reasonable. In some places paint peeling off walls. My overall impression could be improved to make it very goodLocation narrow roads access from most major roads

I rarely write reviews so…The Royal Oak is the perfect country pub. High standards of service and quality food and drink. Booked meal for me and my girlfriend and had a great experience. Well trained and friendly staff. Highly recommend. Great job everyone!

We've eaten at hundreds of restaurants and have never experienced such rude and unwelcoming staff before. Guy behind the bar didn't bother to greet us when we walked in and waited in front of him, despite me saying, good evening. Eventually served us drinks but made us wait in the doorway while he made them, rather than allowing us sit at our pre-booked table. Didn't provide a children's menu, despite us having three (very well behaved) kids with us. Pub wasn't busy so after twenty minutes of waiting patiently, I went back to the bar and asked the same man if we could order, only to receive a snotty response to go and sit down. He appeared five minutes later, looked at us, then walked off again and SHUT THE DOOR TO THE EMPTY ROOM HE'D SAT US IN. Didn't understand what the problem was as we were all being quiet (kids were colouring, etc.). After a full thirty minutes of waiting we paid our drinks bill (at the bar, of course, where the same bar man was busy" polishing glasses) and commented that we were disappointed no one had come to take our order. The same bar man didn't apologise but simply said

As a former local of luxborough I can thoroughly recommend the Royal Oak. The staff are great, the food amazing, the cider cold and the locals precious. Awesome.Steve

Royal Oak Inn Luxborough
Absolutely amazing pub. The staff service is on another level and the food was stunning. We went for a hen do last night and they arranged a singer especially for us and decorated the place beautifully. Highly recommend and we will definitely be going back!
