Penshaw Equestrian Centre

I’ve been coming here for lessons after being at another riding school for a very brief period - I was returning to riding and was very nervous! The yard seems very well run, always tidy and calm and horses are clearly well taken care of. There are 2 indoor schools (one large and one small) as well as an outdoor school that I’ve used so far.I particularly love the online booking system where I can schedule and pay for my lessons online - makes life much easier!I’d particularly recommend Ricardo as an instructor if he’s available. He was so patient with me and I’ve really flourished with my riding, and my confidence is through the roof! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic place, staff really helpful and friendly . Took my 3yr granddaughter and 5yr old grandson they loved it, brushing and riding the ponies. Charlotte was very good and had alot of patience on our introduction lesson. The group one Wednesday morning was equally great. Thanks girls you do a great job xx

Went when I was younger and got bullied by staff because of a medical issue. I was told by a different rider that they where talking about me and saying I was scared of a specific horse. They where informed of my medical issue prior to riding there, not to mention I was A CHILD at the time they where saying these things. Very disgusting, I do not recommend in the slightest!

We began by arranging a party for 13 kids, months in advance at an agreed price per child for 30 minutes of Riding followed by 30 minutes of grooming & ending with the kids party room which they described as a lovely room" that they could dress up for an additional £50 ontop of the £30 room hire which we chose not to take them up on.Party day arrives & we arrive 45 minutes before the party start time. Were then led upto the kids party room

Myself and my 2 daughters attend Penshaw for riding lessons and couldn't recommend it highly enough! The horses are loved and cared for so well. Staff are all friendly and supportive. We have our lessons with Lorraine and she is an amazing instructor, always bringing out the best in us and working at our pace. As an adult starting with no riding knowledge, I was super anxious, but have always been put at ease and we are all making great progress. My daughter is on the squad, she loves it and is learning loads in a supporting environment. We would be there every day if we could!

After 20 years out of the saddle i decided it was time to get back. 7 months on and my confidence and knowledge has grown in all lessons i go to. Staff are amazing and always on hand should help be needed or questions be answered.Thanks TeamPEC

So my daughter lost all her confidence riding due to a previous instructor and then we went to Penshaw and met Lauren and the team including Lorraine and Alisha. These 3 instructors (most lessons with Lauren) have totally increased her confidence and ability ten fold. Looking back on videos at her previous school she had many bad habits. I’m so proud of how far she has come and watching her ride and jump with confidence on a variety of horses is amazing. No more gasping as she jumps like I used to. The team are so friendly and encouraging, the atmosphere at the centre is so friendly. Lauren always explains to Grace the purpose of the session and why to do things in a certain way. Never berates or shouts at her. Thank you Team Penshaw for building Grace’s confidence back up and allowing her to enjoy what she loves all over again. If your child wants to learn safely and increase their skills and knowledge Penshaw Equestrian Centre is definitely the place to go.
