Sea View Car Park

Attention!!!This car park is extremely strict! They have video cameras and the exact start/end parking times are from the moment your car enters the private car park and leaves, and doesn't account for any extra parking time, or purchasing the parking ticket or packing the vehicle after a day at the beach.We were already in the car at the time our 2 hours ticket ran out, but the time packing with the dog and kids, etc... we ended up paying £60 fine for leaving 15 minutes over the ticket end time.

We were driving through Polzeath and decided to stop in the Seaview Car Park. The place was deserted, no other car in the car park, it was mid December. We took some photos of the surfers then left. Surprise, surprise when we got home we have been given a £60 fine! I would have thought a little leniancy could have been given as it is out of season. Day light robbers I don't know how they sleep at night especially after reading the other reviews. I wish I had read the reviews before, will never return to Polzeath this has tainted my feelings toward it. Keep away from this car park!!

* DO NOT PARK HERE *All exactly the same as other reviews have stated.This car park is run by a company called Alliance Parking - based in Newquay.We are in the process of challenging them legally for a fine received, as the ANPR warning signs are AFTER you pass the wall-mounted camera (on the side of Anne’s Cottage surfing shop about 7ft off the ground) no indication that this is the case until it’s too late and you’ve already passed the camera.We strongly suspect their failure to display that the car park is ANPR controlled BEFORE you pass the camera will prove to be illegal.I strongly encourage everyone to avoid this car park at all costs, if you must park here, be sure to pay before entering.Furthermore, I would encourage anyone who receives a fine to challenge it on the basis of the above and threaten to involve consumer champions too if needed.A terrible company and a terrible advertisement for tourists Cornwall so desperately needs to attract.

PARK WITH CAUTIONWhy did I not read these reviews before going here. This car park is very small and when busy very tight with people and surfboards etc everywhere, which results in you being delayed trying to park and get a ticket. Not normally an issue, right? Wrong.We legit bought our ticket paying £8 on the app, BUT we were delayed by dudes moving their boards out the parking space and then figuring out how to actually buy the parking ticket.A delay of 4 mins (yes 4) from entering the car park to buying the ticket resulted in a fine.W T F

I would give it 0 stars if possible. Joke of a car parking service. 2 mins over you get a ticket from the cctv - we left the space - go to court or nothing in between - no call centre - no option to challenge - complete joke - bunch of complete bandits - park on the beach or on the cliff side at least they are honest!!

Very criminal company operating this car park. We overstayed by 6 minutes but because they state on their signage that grace periods don’t apply to tickets of 30 minutes, we incurred a £100 fine

DO NOT PARK HERE.There is no grace period from arriving to paying for your parking. That means as soon as you enter you will be charged. We paid for 30 minutes and received a Parking Charge Notice for overstaying by 4 minutes - that's the time from leaving the car to paying for parking.Alliance Parking are no more than scumbags, they will cause locations like Polzeath to loose all shops, cafes and restaurants as tourists will not go. I can only hope there are several large storms and the car park erodes into the sea or better still is blown up.

This car park is very under-handed in the way that it operates. Only the keen eyed driver would notice the small print on the entrance sign (placed on a side wall so not even in view properly) revealing the use of ANPR, recording you coming in and out. If there are cars behind you, unfortunately you're trapped and can only go forward. Once inside you have no option but to stay there and pay, otherwise you will be fined due to the no grace period. We were about to turn around and leave but thankfully were warned and told of the scam. If you find yourself trapped in this car park I suggest that you pay the minimum 30 minutes, £1 at time of posting, leave straight away and move onto the council run car park. I shall wait to see if I've been fined.

Do not park here!! I’ve been fined for overstaying my paid parking by 2 minutes, 2 extra minutes we needed to put our newborn baby in the car during a storm. Apparently paid parking time also includes the time it takes to drive out of the car park. Cameras in the car park are apparently looking to hit guests and visitors with disproportionate fines.
