St. George’s Church
The Church as well as being a centre for Christian worship also provides a truly inspirational architectural dedication of craft and beauty in forming an Oasis of peace and tranquility for inner reflection. A true marriage of apostolic Church - Anglican Orthodox and Roman

I photographed a wedding here a few weeks ago and i've been absolutely taken away by the gorgeous interior here. Such a beautiful church, and perfect lighting.

Very impressive church from the outside. I have never been in it but have visited the quaint church hall several times for classes.

St. George’s Church
St Georges church -starting point for a circular walk through Jesmond & the dene. A short walk along Osborne Road from the church towards the shopping area brings you to The Grove footpath on the left which runs down past St Marys Well & onto Reid Park Road. A little way up to the left are the remains of St Marys Chapel which was built in the 12th century, following the apparition of Mary holding the baby Jesus. Take the footpath on the right of the Chapel. This will bring you out opposite the Banqueting House. To the left of this is a footpath that takes you down into Jesmond Dene. Over the bridge keep left. Follow the footpath until it re-crosses the river further up into open parkland. Stay on the footpath until you see the Old Mill on the opposite bank. Cross the river at the bridge here by the waterfall. Turn left & follow the river past the quarry. Stay on the footpath close to the river until you come to a footbridge over to the rear of the terraced houses on Matthew Bank. Cross over & walk up Matthew Bank past the lawn tennis club. Take a left at Jesmond Dene Road - La Sagesse school used to be on the opposite side of the junction here. Follow the road past the lovely Jesmond Towers hotel & along to Lindisfarne Road where you take a right (some lovely properties here) & follow it uphill back to St Georges Church. About 1.5 to 2 hours.

I regularly attend this church.Given the current CofE controversies, I think it's important to say that St George's is inclusive for LGBT people and supports gay marriage in church.

Impressive church with nice stained glass windows, a beautiful apse, and an interesting history despite not being very old (late 1800s). Check out the 'clog calendar' and the glass mosaics on the floor.
