Landal Barnsoul

Just had three fabulous nights in the Aries sky pod 10/09/21_13/09/21. First time visiting this Park and certainly won't be the last, very welcoming arrival from owner. Amenities very clean and all you could ask for and more. Beautiful views, fabulous woodland, and wildlife. Beautifuly kept. Caters for everyone. Can't wait to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Landal Barnsoul. The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, within easy reach of some great attractions in Dumfries and Galloway. James and Lynn were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the facilities were excellent. We would definitely recommend Landal Barnsoul to anyone looking for a great holiday in Scotland.The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped. We had a two-bedroom lodge, and it was plenty of space for our family of three. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals, and the bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. There was also an en-suite in the master bedroom.At each end of the lodge is a balcony, perfect for relaxing and at night you can hear the occasional owl! Some of the lodges have hot tubs, and there are exciting new facilities planned.The location was perfect. Landal Barnsoul is located in the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway, close to some great attractions such as Caerlaverock Castle, Drumlanrig Castle, and the Galloway Forest Park. There are also plenty of great walks and bike rides in the area, and wildlife is abundant.Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Landal Barnsoul. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy our family holiday. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great holiday in Scotland, and we will be visiting again soon to resume our adventures.

We booked a lodge for our 10 year wedding anniversary. The site cancelled on us with 8 weeks notice, thankfully hoseasons changed the booking at no cost to us. Why take bookings you can't follow through with?

A wonderful 4 night October half term stay. Chose to stay in a pod due to the weather, family of 4 slept well in it. The heater warms the pod perfectly, the fridge, kettle and microwave were welcome additions! We took our own shelter to put up over the fire pit which is a really good size to cook over and make obligatory smores! Toilets and facilities are good and regularly cleaned. All in all, a wonderful site and will be back!

Had a great time here with 2x 11yr old & a 4yr old girl. The facilities are central to all accommodation at the park and facilities well maintained and clean. Everything there that you need including vending machine's for juices, snacks and coffee! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to couples, friend's and families. Great wee Adventure walks, fishing, picnic area's, play area and a small pitch n putt. Loved it & will be back

I led a DofE group who stayed at Barnsoul in late September 2019. The site was excellent and the facilities for tent based camping were outstanding. The kitchen area has hobs, a fridge, kettle and toaster and is stocked with tea towels and washing up liquid (rare in a campsite kitchen). The BBQ area was a fantastic social space with a watertight roof and electric lights. All the facilities for campers are central to the site and cleaned regularly to a high standard. The site warden was outstanding and helpful in every way we could have asked for. This is a real gem of a site and well worth a visit. They have loads of pods too which look lovely. Thanks for a great stay.

Countryside gem. Lovely site in the middle of nowhere perfect for a couple of nights. Loads of wildlife and not an ounce of road or other background notice. Site was very peaceful. Nice walks from the site. Good facilities including a free to use kitchen with pans etc. Toilets and showers very clean however there aren't a lot of showers so this could be an issue if the site was busy. The warden is extremely helpful and friendly and gives a great little guided tour on arrival.

I loved this campsite. From the minute I emailed before booking, Andy made the booking so easy and answered all my questions quickly and efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble for Andy, even when I thought we were going to be arriving later than I said, he didn't even bat an eyelid!We arrived, I called him and he was there to show us our wonderful pitch.He came back later to tell me all about the Barnsoul campsite and the amount of land they have and what there was to do.We saw the milky way, Jupiter and lots and lots of stars when it got dark. Andy explained that the site is part of the dark skies initiative and it really is. I haven't seen a sky like that since I was in the French Alps a few years ago.The facilities were simple and clean, there is a kitchen area to use if you needed to - with hot plates, toaster and microwave. I haven't see such great facilities on a campsite.We will definitely be back!

We love this place!It's true we haven't been for a few years as we felt we had explored the local area on many previous visits but we returned recently. It is just as senic and tranquil as ever. A beautiful part of the country for walks, cycles or drives.The site is clean and tidy, very well mantained by the staff. Although quite a small site, there is space for childrens play park/areas, a modern communal kitchen/shower/laundry block, an all weather BBQ area and an enclosed dog run. Dogs are welcome.The onsite manager is a lovely chap, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the site, local area and wildlife. Friendly and helpful.

This was our first campsite in our van, lovely and quiet. When we arrived our electric hook up was to short to reach and the lovely owner brought out a longer one. They have a little park for children showers and toilets were clean hand sanitizer everywhere, they have tents campers, statistics and pods the pods looked lovely big chiminea BBQ outside. We went for a walk to see the fort (a wall) but a beautiful views and we got to see a deer, well my 2 year old grandson spotted it before us! It was a beautiful place. Would definitely go again!
