York Drum Lessons

My daughter really enjoys her drum lessons with Liam. The lessons are well structured and she understands what she needs to practice at home. There is good variety in the lessons for her to improve and also build on her love for music. When my daughter needs help with a piece of music from school Liam will also spend time to help her. Allowing her to be more confident playing in public. She has now started her exams, only missing out on distinction by a couple of marks. Liam covers a lot of work to ensure she is ready for the exam. He also really motivates by praise and kindness which is perfect for my daughter. Thanks Liam, she has definitely improved quickly under your guidance.

Liam’s played a big part in bringing my sons confidence up. Naturally a shy and quiet soul especially around strangers Liam has a way about him that’s so warm and upbeat, bringing the best out in the pupil, making them feel good about themselves and their skills.Liam’s an excellent teacher. He’s so passionate about what he does and this shines through and transfers to the student. He’s patient and encouraging. We do a long round trip for the lessons owing to such.

I am probably one of Liam’s most mature students at over 60 years of age. I have always dreamt of learning to play the drums and amazingly Liam is and continues to help me achieve my dream. My learning speed is perhaps not as slick as it used to be but Liam has incredible patience. If I find a new groove or complex fill difficult to master, he always finds a way of breaking down the music to help me. Passing exams doesn’t interest me so Liam prepares a personalised programme which is an excellent combination of theory, learning different grooves and fills as well as learning all types of music genres. The lessons are therefore really interesting as they are specifically tailored to me. I really enjoy working with Liam as he is so professional, knowledgeable, unbelievably patient and very importantly, ensures we have fun every week. He is so passionate about drumming and music in general that I count myself very fortunate to be one of his students.

Liam is a brilliant drum teacher and has been extremely patient with me learning from scratch but also as I'm a bit older than a lot of his students!I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn the drums. 10/10 from me!

Liam is a fantastic drum teacher, very enthusiastic and clearly has a passion for the drums which he passes on in his lessons. He really engages with my son, has a great style of teaching and makes every lesson interesting and fun. Would highly recommend his lessons.

Liam is a great teacher, full of energy and very knowledgeable and passionate about the drums. I'm currently working towards grade 6 and with Liam's help this is an enjoyable journey and experience. Mark H

If you are looking for an enthusiastic and positive drum teacher then look no further! Liam brings so much energy into each lesson and is a very experienced musician. I feel that my 12 year old's lessons are of a high quality and it is great to see him coming home and wanting to practise more independently. Each lesson is very well structured, with rhythmic and speed exercises as warm ups followed by learning the drum accompaniments to a range of genres of music. Liam sits alongside his pupils, modelling the rhythms on his practise drum pad which gives the pupil confidence. It is obvious that Liam loves and lives for music and this passion comes across in each lesson.

Liam was recommended to us as a great drumming teacher & he has surpassed our expectations. Our son has found his lessons thoroughly productive, enjoyable and he has made exceptional progress. With Liam's dedicated tuition, our son has achieved a high merit at Grade 8.During our son's 10 years as a drummer he has had several teachers, but Liam stands out as the best.
