My girlfriend and I did a fish filleting course yesterday. Dan (the owner) is a very funny and generous guy. We went home confident and with a bag full of fish! Great value for the money

Great fishmonger, personal service and the owner seems to genuinely give a toss about affordability for customers (not that this is easy for anyone right now) offering options for cheaper cuts and some recipes, etc. Well done. I've never had anything but good fish from this shop, had a lovely bit of turbot on the weekend, sadly can't manage that every week, but what a treat. Think they have a pop up bar there, too, now, looking forward to giving that a try...

Generally the fish quality is good, however bought some fresh fish, that when that when prepared for cooking noticed was not as fresh as I expected. My fault as should have noticed when in the shop. On positive note, bought fresh mussels which were good. It's not cheap but is bristol with its dearth of fishmongers it's better than the supermarkets.

Ate in with the kids at 5pm. Lovely and fresh fish and chips, friendly and helpful staff. An option to rival Steins in Padstow

Nice guys but...The really don't know or don't care that they're selling fillets of fish that should be scaledI'm only writing this because this isn't the first time I've bought fish from them and have had to scale it myself. I think that they and their customers should be aware that to do a proper job they should scale the fish while whole before filleting it. It's damaging for the flesh to do it on such a small fillet of fish..And contrary to what they tried to tell me, cod isn't a fish that has hardly any scales on it". Mackerel is fine

Really please with the service they provided. I preordered mussels and they recommend how many I would need for my party size. They were bang on right, the mussels were so clean and fresh and I will definitely be returning!
