I have a Latvian passport and when I entered it the scanner said it was rejected. When asking if they rejected foreign passports they said no we accept all of them yours must be dodgy. Bit rude when that’s my genuine passport so felt extremely embarrassed to leave the venue when being rejected of my non uk passport. I just am sad that I can’t ever go the the only proper gay club in Sheffield. Seems a bit xenophobic to me. Which is sad when it’s an all inclusive LGBTQ+ bar/club. And the only one in Sheffield.

Do not come here if you are looking for a safe space. They let people come in who are not queer and do not believe in the lifestyle, meaning don’t like gay people. They cause trouble and many times there are people getting assaulted. It’s a members only bar but yet they give memberships to anyone. These kind of places are supposed to be a safe space. I wish the owners thought about that.

Even tho my id is valid they wouldn’t let me in the women on the counter and the bouncer was very viloent and. Intimidating do not go whatever you do a horrible place to drink

Stopped by and bought a pint and a redbull, good music playing and the DJ was absolutely slaying on the mic. The other people there were great energy and a lot of fun. The bartender however treated me as if I was the absolute weirdest person he’s ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I got up to dance and while clearing tables he took my half-full redbull… when I asked if I could at least finish it before he took it away, he looked at me with a look of intense judgement and ick. I downed the redbull, handed it back to him, and he proceeded to clear other tables while offering me old half-filled pints saying “Hey, do you wanna finish these drinks too?? No? You sure??”I’ve never in my life been so outwardly judged by someone working their job. I had a great night though, I thought it was hilarious. Hope the bartender can find some inner peace or a different job entirely.

The staff were rude but the music was good. The smoking area is on the street outside of the club. Better off going corp if you want cheap drinks

The person serving on Saturday night 11/11/23 at the bar in the pool area has got to have been the most miserable person I’ve met in long time. Their people skills were zero. The toilets were absolutely rotten and stuck to the high heavens.On the plus side the person at the door was very friendly and welcoming.

Been here loads over the years, I'm not gay but some of my friends are, I've never had a problem here although it is in a dodgy area it's not the club's faultStaff have always been friendly including the bouncers, even though I'm not gay I've had quite a few suggestive comments from the bouncers, but it's all good fun and it's never bothered me I'll take the compliment!Also I love the CAGE!

My friends and I go here quite often as it closes late and it's such a fantastic club. I can honestly say that Dempseys is a club where I genuinely feel safe, the bouncers/ security are always polite and helpful and do a really good job keeping people safe, if you have any issues they're always available to help. The bar staff and Djs are brilliant too! Really down to earth and will happily chat with you. They play a really diverse range of music and if they don't have a song that you've requested they'll download it for you. The drinks are well priced, and they have some interesting cocktails.Honestly, this is probably my favourite bar in Sheffield, it's a safe, fun environment that caters to people of different backgrounds etc. Love it.

Always a great night out whenever I go!The staff are all friendly, including the security staff.The drink prices are reasonable with offers here and there and also depending on what days you go.Everyone is welcome and it's not just a gay bar. I'd say it's a place of diversity. No matter your age, gender, sexuality or ethnicity. This venue will provide you with a social space where you can be yourself.They've even started doing bingo and quize night on a Tuesday which is amazing!Get yourself down there and have a good time!
