Good food, good pricing.The ‘prawns’ in the prawn dishes could be improved on (size and quantity). The ones in the Singapore rice noodles I bought were more like shrimps, and could count 3/4 of them.

I ordered two meals, it took around half hour to arrive which was impressive as it said 1 hour delivery. The food was absolutely gorgeous, roasting hot. I had chicken and tomato I have to say best Chinese I have had. Hubby had duck black bean he said it was exceptional. Definitely be ordering again.

We have used this carry out restaurant twice in the last couple of weeks. The food was very good and at a reasonable price. We tried another restaurant in our village prior to the cooking house and we much much preferred the food from the cooking house. We're so pleased that we have such a lovely Chinese carry out in East Calder. Thank you.

Good little takeaway.All the food was very nice.I particularly liked the salt and chilli squid starter.If I had to be critical at all, it does irk me that it’s cash only.That’s questionable to me just from a tax obligation process and if you don’t know and only have a card for contactless payment you can forget it. That’s not good, especially post the worst of Covid.I’m taking one star off for that.But the food is nice. Not great but perfectly acceptable.

First ever time ordering from The Cooking House.Delivery driver really pleasant.Go to say the food was seriously good. Black bean sauce, beautiful, just the right amount of spice and didn't go all thick and gloopy like so many other take away places.Veg chow mein also excellent.Very pleased overall.

A while back I posted a review. I don't know what they have done to the food - it has improved dramatically. Proper Cantonese-style cuisine and so much better than anything else in miles. Services has improved significantly too with a new driver in the team. I usually order for collection, 20 minutes in advance. Never fail.

I ordered from this takeaway a couple of nights back, ordered online, paid online and given a realistic delivery time. Great taste, good portions and fair price. I will be using the Cooking House again.

Food is lovely, just a shame about the delivery driver who knocked so hard it nearly put my door through, then started throwing abuse at me for my doorbell not working, erm I'm sorry I didn't know it wasn't working, then asked me if I kept every delivery driver waiting for 2 minutes, I'm sorry I'm disabled and use a stick to walk with. Then started jamming his finger off and on the doorbell button to make a point. I really am sorry you were having such a bad day.

Food is always great from here, never had any issues in 2years of ordering.(Also delivery has never been longer than 45minutes which I would say is pretty good!)
