South Coast Bakery Ltd

South Coast Bakery in Polperro has two shops, both of which are full of delicious cakes and pasties, plus other savouries. The staff are most helpful and the larger shop near the church has seating outside for those lovely Cornish days. We will be visiting there again on our next Cornish holiday.

Popped in Thursday and enjoyed a cream tea.Scones were perfect.We also ordered a lemon drizzle cake to take home (delicious) a sausage roll and a veg pasty.Sausage roll and pasty were huge, hubby enjoyed sausage roll, unfortunately I was given a meat pasty of some kind which I couldn't eat and hubby didn't want. A little disappointing but Great food at great prices so would go back

Just taken delivery of 10 large pasties, my family has strong ties with cornwall as it is my wife's home county, very fond memories of our regular visits over the past 55 years. These pasties are some of the very best I've tasted and took us all back to those wonderful times in cornwall. Will certainly be ordering again shortly. We've been having South Coast Bakery pasties delivered for a few years now, and we really love them.I'm an old Cornish Git living away from my homeland, so we have one each every week, and never disappointed.I begrudgingly give my in laws a couple from time to time....maybe I ought to send them a box of 10 for Christmas!Kevin is always very quick to put right any problems caused by the courier, at no extra cost to the customer.All in all, they get full marks from a very fussy old Cornish Git.

My first batch of 10 pasties arrived with 4 of them being battered and broken, I suspect more the fault of DPD. I advised the company but, we still ate the broken ones and froze the rest. Delicious! However, Kevin responded by saying he would be sending out a replacement batch due to the damage. I said I would be very happy with just 4 to replace the damager ones but, no, he insisted 10 were sent,. The ones i have had have been perfect, lovely pastry, packed with exceptional filling. No extra seasoning required by friend who seasons EVERYTHING as evidently there is never enough. Will certainly use again.

The pasties arrived today and we have just eaten some for tea , I must say they are disappointing , the pastry is nice but the content is almost all potatoes , what is the cheese content ? you can hardly taste it ! and where are the onions ? They should be call potato pasties . One other thing the box they came in was wet and soggy it was a good job that the pasties were wrapped individuallyTony

Ordered ten pasties which look The part. However, on eating the first, I was disappointed. Unfortunately, they taste more like Ginsters, than the pasties my terminally ill wife used to make. Who used the Delia Smith recipe. I will giving the rest away.

These pasties are fantastic and the service still being given during the pandemic has been amazing. When a batch of pasties failed to arrive, Kevin ensured that a new batch was delivered straight away and kept me informed all the way. I would highly recommend this business.

Got to agree with an earlier post by Tony...South Coast Bakery you have almost gotten everything perfect (pastry, size, seasoning) apart from the main thing the filling!Ordered cheese and onion pasties and the filling was such a disappointment as the pasty I’ve just received/eaten (the 1st of 10) is a potato pasty first and foremost, barely any cheese or onion filling contained within the pasty which is a terrible shame.Please change your fillings to add plenty more cheese and plenty of onion after all that’s what they are supposed to be (and substantially less potato) and you would have the perfect pasty and a costumer for life.Sorry folks but that’s a fair criticism....regrettablyThis is the 4th different company from Cornwall that I have purchased cheese and onion pasties from and you are so near to the perfect pasty but yet so far away
