I used Neil Hanson Photography to capture my proposal in June 2023.I decided to propose at The Retreat, Elcot Park Hotel, in Newbury. In the lead up to the big day, I planned exactly where I was going to get down on one knee, how it would work timing wise, and gained permission from the hotel to have a photographer on site. After searching for the right photographer, I came across Neil’s website and after looking at his portfolio, decided he was the perfect fit for what we were looking for.Neil and I discussed the exact location of where I would propose and he made a couple of really useful suggestions for how I could provide the best chance of a natural and well framed photo.When the day came, Neil was brilliant every step of the way. He was discreet and captured our special moment perfectly. He then took great time and care to show us some spots he had found around the hotel where we could have a few extra pictures and clearly had a great eye for what makes a brilliant photo.Neil sent us some images that same day which we could share with family and friends, and the full album within 3 days. To say we are blown away by the quality of the photos is an understatement. We absolutely love our treasured memories and can’t wait to share them with all our family and friends.We would highly recommend Neil to anyone who is looking for surprise proposal photography. He has been a pleasure to work with and has provided us with an amazing and invaluable gift through his work.Thank you, Neil.

We absolutely loved Neil’s approach from start to finish- the prewed shoot to get us used to the camera, his relaxed and easy approach throughout the day - never imposing and just fitting in seamlessly, and then of course the beautiful photos at the end of it, with a gorgeous usb and lovely gift box of extra photos! Would highly recommend for any couples looking for a photographer - we feel so lucky to have found Neil!

Neil was the photographer for our wedding on September 2022.All of the special moments of our day were captured in the most wonderful ways. Our favourites were the sunset photos (although Neil pointed out he couldn't promise good weather on the day)!We have spent many hours pouring over the photos in the few months since.Neil also offered an engagement shoot which also produced some wonderful photos and allowed us to get to know each other so we felt comfortable on the wedding day.I'd recommend Neil for any wedding!

Neil Hanson is an exceptional photographer with a truly unique eye for detail, quality and style. We were lucky to have him as our photographer for our wedding photoshoot as well as our growing family photoshoot, both done at the Blenheim Palace 5 years apart. The photos that Neil captured are absolutely stunning which are now dotted around our house and he was friendly and creative during both photoshoots which put everyone at ease (including our little 2-year old)! My family and I could not recommend Neil enough!

We were instantly drawn to Neil’s work at the open day of our venue. The portfolio pictures were amazing and he knew the venue and the best spots so that was good as we knew we would be in good hands and could trust Neil to do what he does best. Neil was a pleasure to have as part of our day!We did not spend hours away from our guests, but still captured the day perfectly with some amazing photos. Both before and after the day, he has been quick and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend!
