The food was fine, terrible service. We asked to see if they could seat a party of 7 of us and one server took it like it was an insult that we had a larger than normal party. He continued to be rude the entire time serving us, like when one or two of the people in the party just asked for things on the side for their main meal as opposed to being served with it already in the main meal. Overall the server just made the dining experience uncomfortable and I’m not sure what we did to offend him.

Loved coming here for dinner! Great atmosphere, lovely waitresses, my partner had chicken enchiladas which were fab and I had large tacos with guacamole and vegetarian haggis for my main. Food was amazing value and tasted lovely, although vegetarian haggis looked like it was straight out of a packet which was slightly disappointing, and the rice was a bit al dente. But overall it was a fab meal and we would definitely recommend.

The best Mexican restaurant bar none! The staff are fabulous and didn’t try to rush us as we were choosing what we wanted. They answered all the questions we had about the drinks and brought our chosen food and drinks really quickly. We shared a cheese and haggis quesadilla starter, mains were a burrito and enchilada and we rounded it off with some delicious sorbet. It was so nice to talk, eat and drink in such a relaxed atmosphere and we were more than happy to leave a tip as the whole meal was such good value for money. We can’t wait to come back the next time we are in Edinburgh.

Good Mexican restaurant with ample options for vegetarians or those with allergens. Some of the flavors hail more from a Spanish background than a Mexican one, but still delicious! Service was prompt and kind.

This is the worst food I had in a long time. I had the fish tacos and basically I had frozen fish fingers on a plate with sad undercooked rice. If you can't be bothered cooking at least lower your prices instead of serving abominations.

I’m a native California gal who has high standards for my Mexican food. I’m generally disappointed with British ‘Mexican’ but Viva was EXCELLENT!! The menu was full of options for me and my vegetarian daughter and the salsas were amazing and varied and all of it was delusions and very authentic!! Highly recommended!!

Went here with friends and we were all very hungry. Had a starter and a main but the portions were quite small so we all had another starter instead of desert. We all got the traditional chocolate mole chicken dish for mains which we loved. All the subtle spices and flavours to the dish made it so unique and tasty. The staff were very busy and hard to catch up with but sweet and personable when they were at the table. The only thing I would say is that it was a bit cold downstairs in the restaurant and I had to keep my coat on. Aside from that, brilliant evening and some lovely food.
