Having to wait 20 mins to get in front door and when we got upstairs waiting another 20 mins. Then the lady who let us in was rude and we were ringing all morning to see if the resident had gone home or not and no answer.takes us an hour and a half to get to Ann Marie howes.then left waiting at the front door. -visitor

After a major operation I was transfered to Ann Marie Howes Reharb. The place was spotless. Most of the staff were okay. One of the Health Care Assistants (Tina Hunt) was such a professional and a very caring person. My bad experience was with Physio. The senior therapist was unpleasant, she didn't want to help me with my needs. When I insisted she brought one of her colleagues who argued and shouted at me. There was also a group of HCAs, the leader shouted unnecessarily. If you needed anything, she'd promise to get it for you but she'd disappear. I was so glad that she went on leave. The food was good for me. Much better and palatable than the hospital food.

Our Dad was taken here after a spell in hospital following a fall. He has dementia and was completely distressed and confused the whole time he was there. He was left alone for most of the day and we really feared for him as he was deteriorating, upset and depressed. He is now in the most fantastic care home and we have seen a huge improvement and he is happy and properly cared for. Some of his best clothes went missing while he was there and on one visit he was wearing the most tatty jog pants I have ever seen even though he had good quality trousers with him. The carer I mentioned it to seemed to find that funny. He does not own a pair of jog pants. He also was missing around £70 in cash from his wallet when he left. Dementia patients are an easy target for people who have no morals. I have to say one particular carer, Natalie was exceptional. My advice, if your loved one has dementia get them out of there as fast as you can.

My Mom is a long term resident at the AMH centre. During her time there I feel she has been exceptionally well cared for. I do think that the facility is understaffed but that said all the staff I have come into contact with are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend AMH centre wholeheartedly.

staff are lovely and doing great job, facilities are good. However I don't subscribe to the current methods for rehabilitation. The key goals for this establishment is to bring patients back to a confident state, whereby they can recover from previous situations which have lead them to this place.Unfortunately, I see the current methods for rehab, poor and inadequate at best. Patients are locked in their rooms 24/7 in solitary confinement. My mom is put to bed at 6:30, as they are short of staff due to lack of assistance at bedtime. This means securing them in bed for most of the day. Woken up very early mornings 6-7am, as to do blood test, again as they don't have staff to do this during normal hours.Rooms are clean and tidy, but when you're in a room 24/7 with no forms of entertainment, this isolation is worse than the cure.Patients are not allowed to interact with each other, so you can see why you might come out of this place struggling with mental heath issues.I recently drove down from London to see my mom, after a 3 hr drive and unpredictable traffic I was told my visitation was restricted to 30 mins as I was late. Apparently there was another visitor in the building so mine could not be facilitated due to some supposed COVID risk. This was her only visit for the week !Given that all patients have been double vaccinated and visitation is in thier closed room, these measures would seem rather overly strict and convenient solution for what seems to short staffed ward.(I was told this was Boris Johnsons recommendation- which I understand from Social services is totally incorrect !)The care is good, but management need to address the rational for rehabilitation, COVID should not be used as convient excuse for 24-7 isolation.Prisoners currently have more liberties than our old people.

Avoid at all costs. Poor and dangerous standards due to hardly any permanent staff in place.Staff, junior, and senior with poor attitudes. However, it appears if your face fits, you get the care that should be warranted to all who cross their paths.Serious issues with our family member were not addressed, leading to medical emergency and hospitalisation.A handful of fantastic staff who are very caring and considerate and treated our family member with respect and dignity. However, too many that outweighed the good and made life miserable and dangerous for our loved one. Some staff appear unable to recognise basic health care needs.Dignity and respect are not part of the care given. Sore area purposely squeezed when our loved one had the audacity to get involved in their own care, and asked questions and had concerns.Unit Dr absent, when sort, she was blasé to dismissive to concerns raised to her.Items also disappeared from family members' room.Patients left unattended when buzzer pressed.Patients left with no to little engagement during the day.Very little rehabilitation observed, with large gaps between the little that is done.No updates on loved ones given even when asked for. Staff pass the buck unless absolutely cornered. Then they get defensive. No hot evening meals, only sandwiches with a few crips and a mini salad given. It is not good for patients who are recovering from surgery or illness.Discharge rushed and incomplete, did not talk to family members to confirm all needs were met prior to discharge.

After 3 months in Heartlands ICU, my brother came here with an amputated leg, he found the nurses to be nice, but after two weeks he was told he was fit to leave. We told the Social workers that his house was not fit for purpose, and even though they did an assessment and saw the mould on the walls and the missing floorboards, they still kicked him out, we were told that a care package had been put in place, it's now six months since he left and we are still waiting for the care package we were promised.

This place is grossly under staffed, and shows poor managerial control. The majority of the staff are good, kind & helpful, but there are some who prefer to discuss their personal life in preference to attending to the patients needs. I object to waiting 35 to 40 minutes for a urine bottle, then to be told ill fetch some which took another 20 minutes, only to find there was some in my on suit bathroom (perhaps they need to remember who's bedbound & who's going to be on the mop) I will never ever come here again, its close to home for visiting, but still no i'd pay for my family to travel further. The greatest thing they have here is the Physio team, and please believe they are first rate professionals.

So far so good, I arrived from Heartlands yesterday to recover from a broken hip. The staff have been very pleasant and the accommodation is nice and clean. My only gripe is absolutely no mobile phone connection, which in this day and age is appalling. The owners need to rectify this situation. As I'm unable to call out or receive calls.
