Gwithian Sands Chalets

Absolutely great for anyone taking a dog on holiday. Plenty of walks and a lovely flat beach. Very handy location for trips out up and down the coast.

We've been coming to the Gwithian Sands Chalets for 20 years.There are maybe 30 chalets, all of roughly the same style but each reflecting their owner's tastes and states of decoration and renovation.Great for kids with huge sand dunes to play on.The Gwithian Towans car park is about 15 minutes walk with its access to the glorious 3 mile Hayle Beach.Brilliant!

Well maintained camp site, a bit of a walk to the beach and easy to get disorientated if not familiar. Would recommend planning a route before leaving. Wear sensible shoes (flip flops may not be wise).Good camp facilities. Cannot mention about shared facilities.

Absolutely loved our break here... Wasn't sure what to expect but the chalet was no nice and perfect for our family of four and our dog Chewbacca... The location is brilliant with the sand dunes behind which leads to the beach... Such a quiet location and will definitely look at coming here again....

Fantastic location and nice quiet holiday chalets. Live the 60s vibe to them, and you can't really beat having the dunes, a walk (1km), and then Gwithian beach directly from your doorstep.Super easy access to shops in Hayle, nice cafés, and surf hire up and down the beach.

Having stayed in Blue Boy every year for the last 8 years I am now giving it a 1 star review. The location, chalet and host are good but the way in which the site is run is not. Please be aware that if you have children or come as a group (staying in other chalets) you are unlikely to be welcome when on site. The issue is the conflict between chalets that are rented to holiday-makers and those that are used by owners who seem to have a very different agenda. We had a very disappointing stay this year (May half term), mainly due to the orchestrated efforts of the owners of a chalet near ours who did not like our children playing football, riding bikes, playing hide and seek etc. - basically all the things children like doing on holiday.The warden of Gwithian Sands, Steve (who manages the site) was diplomatic but ineffectual, siding with the owners simply because they would still be there after we had left. This was incredibly unfair and very short- sighted.Like all children ours like to have fun, but they are courteous and considerate and did not deserve the treatment and vindictiveness that they and we received from the chalet owners.Gwithian Chalets - you need to decide whether you are a fun location for families or a retirement village - you cannot be both.

Fantastic get away with the dogs for some chill out time

Me and my partner stayed here for a few nights to celebrate my birthday. Really helpful, polite and accommodating staff when booking. The chalet was clean and beautifully decorated, and of course situated in a great location. We were even left a thoughtful welcome gift and note for when we arrived. Will definitely be coming again soon.

Lovely place. We booked just before things got really difficult re social distance and unnecessary travel. We decided to go as it was a separate chalet and gwithian beach is vast and easy to keep safe distances. The chalet was really pretty, decorated in seaside blue and white with everything you could want. Kind welcome pack from the owners too.It's just in the dunes behind Gwithian beach so walks with our Labrador straight from the door. In better times, you can walk to several lovely cafes, including Sunset Cafe and the NT's Godrevy cafe. Hayle is also a shortish walk or quick drive, and lots of quirky shops and Philips bakery for wonderful pasties. Will definitely be back towards the end of the year when it's too cold for our campervan. Thanks Steve and Carol!
