Lovely place for a walk. Connected to Mars y Pant. Lots of paths, dips and rises and some steep steps up to a high panoramic view north. A large wooded area with several entrances. Popular with dog walkers, an area for mountain bikes plus some wooden climbing frames for kids. Can get very muddy...

Great place to walk the dogs. Lots of different paths you can use to vary your walk. Parking is free but limited, although I have never failed to find somewhere to park.

What a wondrous maze of trails going hither and thither through thickets of birch, pine and more. Amazing to find such a large feature composed of sandy gravel, the drainage is such that you find highly unusual carpets of lichen actually growing on the ground.

A nature reserve is a place reserved for nature. As a wildlife trust reserve and a SSSI this is an important site for many ground nesting birds and rare flora and fauna. While people may not see an obvious reason (such as livestock) for their dog to be on a lead, the continual pressure on wildlife such as ground nesting birds, from dogs running free through the undergrowth, will have a huge impact on biodiversity, especially with the high levels of dog ownership now. Please take your dog to a dog park for them to run free and respect the dogs on leads signs at nature reserve sites. Even if you don’t particularly care about breeding birds or rare plants, if the nature these sites are meant to protect disappear, they will no longer exist for you to enjoy a walk, instead the protections will go and another housing development will appear.
