Cottage Road Cinema

Amazing place. They even have a guy who comes out with a concessions tray. They show old and new films. Laurel and hardy is on this week, for example.I hope more people choose to go, as there were just 15 people we could see on Friday night this week for A Haunting in Venis. Not enough to remain open if that is how busy it is at other times.We'll be returning, particularly for the older films.

Went to see my favourite film here. It's such an institution and for good reason. From the outside to the in it's absolutely gorgeous. It's so unique! The confectionery is great and really cheap! It's a must go for everyone in Leeds. Go support local, you'll not regret it

A very old but wonderful cinema. I used to come here in the 80-90s. Came to see Indiana Jones V. My friend used to work here. Love this place..

It’s brilliant. From the lovely staff with old fashioned torches showing you to your seat, the prices, the intermission and the excellent ice cream .. hard to beat it!!

This is a small independent cinema situated in Cottage Road, Headingley, Leeds, which has been here for years. Prices are reasonable. The screen is not particularly big but the seating area can take several hundred, I would think. The rake of the seats is gradual so watch out if you have someone tall in front of you. The seats themselves are reasonable for a cinema but not the plusher version you might expect in an Odeon Luxe, Cineworld or Vue but then they don't have the atmosphere that this place has!

I love independent cinemas and want them to continue very much. Big fan of Cottage Road. But the problem is that this cinema is in no way disabled accessible. It’s just not. It was very upsetting for my husband today who did manage to get up the stairs with hand holding, a stick and handrails. But getting into his seat, with tiered seating and no hand rails, no lifts, no help at all proved impossible. I feel rotten for him and rotten for the cinema too. No way could anyone in a wheelchair access this cinema. I would like it to advertise that it is not disabled accessible, but I suppose that would mean it couldn’t operate at all. Which actually probably would not have been enough.

Fantastic showing of Poor Things as part of LIFF in what is a great cinema. A bit annoying having a guy stood in front of us throughout the film looking through infra red glasses to see if anyone was filming. He was visible and moving out the corner of my eye throughout.

Wonderful independent cinema tucked away at the top of Headingley. Always love coming here! They put on a good mix of new films and classics and the prices for tickets and popcorn are really reasonable. Always friendly service and love the ice cream on sale before the film. Hope there is another screening of Casablanca - seeing it in such a classic setting was a highlight of last winter!
