New Lanark Mill Hotel

I love staying here when I am over in Scotland for work. The location is stunning and surrounding walks are fantastic in the evening. I stayed in a riverside cottage and it is great value for the price with lovely views over the river - it is so peaceful listening to the river at night.In general I do not have any major complaints, the only complaint I would have around the food in the restaurant is the quality of the beef burgers - I was really disappointed with the meat quality and texture for the price, it was lacking any flavour and came across as cooked from frozen. I think there is a lot to be said about a nice fresh burger. The hand cut chips were great though! Other items I tried from the menu were much tastier, such as the pork belly.

Lovely hotel in a great location service and staff was excellent,all so friendly. Also a very good restaurant on site with terrific food. Definitely be back again.

Myself and 2 girlfriends came here for a spa day to celebrate my birthday and it was by far the best spa day we’ve had to date. The facilities, staff and location were amazing. We could not have asked for a more friendly welcome and throughout our 6 hour stay, Vicky was an incredible host. Our treatments were some of the best we’ve had and our therapist Megan was so so lovely and made us feel so relaxed. And the 2 Jamie’s are just as lovely. I could not recommend this spa enough. Thank you so much to Vicky for your impeccable service and we truly wish you the best. We will be back soon!

Lovely place to stayStaff are friendlyThe room had a great view of the river and it sounded great. There is a few different places to visit around the area and it is worth a trip.The meal in the hotel at night was really nice and breakfast was good the day after too.The pool was a decent size and it had a jacuzzi along with a sauna and steam room which were both great.Overall I would recommend this to anyone and will be going again when I can.

We stayed overnight to break our journey. It's a fabulous building and our generously sized room had great views to the river. Unfortunately, the mattress was uncomfortable - I was poked in my back by a spring all night. The shower over bath was awkward, with a narrow bath bottom leaving little room for movement and a combination of a large tap unit and poor flow meant I couldn't get under the shower. Not a set up for anyone with less than full agility and mobility.We had dinner. I really enjoyed my steak, and the hand cut chips were the best I've had. My other half's pork belly was well cooked, soft, and rich, but rather let down by roasted vegetables that really hadn't seen enough of the oven. Bar service was slow, but maybe due to a wedding. Breakfast was good, but with some elements a bit over done, not four star.Overall, this is a wonderful building in a spectacular location with great rooms. It just doesn't cut it as a four star hotel at the price point. A bit more attention to detail and it could be a really special place.

Just home after a two night stay. The hotel was lovely. The pool was beautiful. The meals were superb. Loved the haggis Bon bons!Can't fault any aspect of our stay. The walk along the river was stunning as was the view from our bedroom window. I can't understand some of these comments as the staff were very helpful.

Visited here in august, fantastic service at spa, let down by reception and some of the wait staff. We booked a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal and had main and dessert. We were then told it was supposed to be starter and main - desert not in the deal. The wait staff and receptionist claimed it was in the small-print. Have yet to find any small print relating to this but such a restriction should be plainly stated on the website. To be fair after arguing the toss the charge for dessert was removed but the receptionist the next morning was quite combative about the situation. All in all disappointing.

Smashing place, full of architectural history. The staff were A1 from reception to the bar staff.The room was very comfortable and loved the features of the old mill structure.Good range of ale at a good price.Location is spot on and quiet.

Had such a lovely visit to the spa with some friends complete with afternoon tea, Prosecco and massage. The massage was so relaxing and the device from Vicky and the two Jamie’s was so friendly and attentive. Even though there was a wedding at the venue we weren’t overlooked at all and were taken care of completely! 10/10 would come again!

Lovely hotel, great location.Beautiful setting and a very well presented hotel, built in an old cotton mill on the banks of the Clyde and close by to the falls of Clyde.Service at the Spa, restaurant and in general at the hotel was excellent. The rooms are spacious and there is a lovely view of the cascading river.
