Central Autopoint Car Service Repairs & MOT

Have now used this garage services twice. I find the staff at this garage to be extremely helpful and friendly, they cant do enough for you and keep you informed at every stage. Cathy has been especially helpful ☺ I love the way they send a video of anything they do, it's very reassuring that the problems are actually real and are verified by these videos. We are definitely going to be using this garage as our regular place from now on.

Needed to put my car through a MOT and service. New to area so researched local garages with a good reputation. I expected my car to fail an MOT as I had a strange noise coming from the front nearside, suspected worn bearings. I reported this on delivery to the garage. The car did fail the MOT. rear brakes and handbrake, tyre, rear coil spring and loose under tray. I was quoted £612.73 for repairs or £879.44 if I wanted 2 springs changing as recommended. The price seemed excessive. When I checked the price of a spring, I could buy for £35. I was also told that the price might go up once further exploratory works were done on the brakes. It all seemed a bit vague and open ended. I asked what their labour rate was and was told a staggering £90 an hour and if I didn't like it I could take my car elsewhere for repairs. Having made some enquires, I did just that. I returned the car for a re-test and service. The car failed again on the brake test. I had just had the whole rear brakes replaced along with new hand brake cable and tested. I took it back to the garage where I had the repairs done and they did a new MOT and it passed. How can this be right? Made me very suspicious. I will report to the authorities.

ROUGE TRADERS...Shame on you and your service.Girlfriend recently took car for basic repair. Got it fixed as had no choice, car already there.. but she came back in tears as they told her various minor faults. on her car.Giving her the normal scare tactics of Dodgy garages.Gonna cost hundreds pound extra.Really shame on you.Avoid at all costs.Gonna report to trading standards.

I've been taking my cars here for nearly 5 years and haven't had any problems since. Very welcoming staff who will make sure that you go away with a happy experience. They send you a video after each service/MOT to let you know what they've done and they also show you what needs doing. In my opinion this is good to see from the customers perspective and I hope they carry on doing this! I dealt with James today who has been very helpful and assertive. Any issues that arised he dealt with swiftly and I went home happy. I would highly recommend taking your car here! Thanks again!

Avoid at all costs. Quoted me over 1k in repairs on my car. Took it to another garage to be re-tested and passed with 3 advisories.

I had thought these to be a good garage, friendly staff and helped me out of a jam when my window failed and wouldn't go back up. However, I am horrified to learn about the job they did on my brakes last year when I took it in. I have recently moved so when my brakes started to squeel, thinking it was the fronts becoming worn this time, I had to go elsewhere. I was horrified to learn it was in fact the most recent job done on the rear brakes and handbrake that was the problem, with a long list of things that should not have been present. Two mechanics were unsure exactly how the job had been done so poorly. So I am now having to pay out for what should be an unnessesary repair, as what I paid Central Autopoint for was not done correctly.

I would highly recommend Central Auto Point. I needed an urgent car repair and not only could they do it the same day they did it there and then while I waited. Fantastic customer service from John at the service desk through to the guys in the workshop. Thank you for your help.

We had our Skoda Superb 2017 at this garage in February with an adaptive cruise control issue. The garage believed they could fix the issue, after 2 hours and a test drive the issue came back. After a further hour, the problem ‘was fixed’, however after 6 miles of driving the issue returned. The garage was then contacted once again, and asked for the car to return once again. The warning light disappeared in the meantime, but we still went back. The garage then said that if the light is gone, the issue is gone, pointing out that everything is all good. We’ve been told there is no guarantee on the repair due to ‘road quality’ in our area. Six months passed, the warning light for the ACC still came on and off, and the garage is ignoring our emails. We paid £180 and the problem was not solved. The problem was fixed by another mechanic in the end, costing us much much less and took only 30 mins. If you have a similar problem, we would not recommend this garage unless you want to waste your time and money!
