I've been going to Vox since I first moved to Manchester, always get a lovely welcome and a great service. Love the gender neutral prices. Amy took me through the transition to going short, with all the reassurance I needed, and has helped me not regret this decision ever since with her excellent cutting and styling. Thank you!

I feel so fortunate to have found my hairdresser Amy and Vox.Amy is absolutely amazing in every. single. possible. way.My hair is so so unbelievably healthy despite being completely bleached platinum from scalp to ends, I get so many compliments and I completely trust her in every sense. I wouldn't even consider going to someone else as I know that she is the creme de la creme!Honestly, Vox is such a special hair salon. The whole team are so lovely, its such a relaxing environment and a joy every time I visit. Love love love.

First time here, got a full head of highlights with Matt. He was amazing and talked me through what would work best with my hair and the colour I wanted. He was lovely & friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Also shout out to Heather for the blow dry & fringe trim, couldn't have asked for better! See you next time! :)

Matt and Vincenzo have both cut my hair. I come here regularly and i always leave super happy. Cannot fault anything. Always an amazing haircut and finish. Trust them to make my hair look brand new, always! Highly recommend!

Everyone was lovely and the place is great, but I’ve come away not liking my cut at all. Always hesitant to mark a business down, but felt the need to leave a review.The layers I’ve got now look like I’ve got bad extensions under my hair. It’s just one shorter layer over another blunt length that should’ve been taken up or softened, which is what I asked for.The stylist didn’t show me the back when I was there - she said ‘you won’t be able to see it’. Now I know the real reason. And I’m not sure what to ask for to fix it. Don’t want to have to take loads of length off. For over £50 I did expect more. I paid for styling included too, but it seems she spent too much time on the cut itself because I was initially asked if I wanted it curling, which I said yes to, but then told my appointment was over after the blow dry.

Loved everything about today. I felt comfortable, welcomed & I love my cut. Matt is such a nice guy who made me feel at ease plus he was easy to have a gossip with ❤️

I went in for a root retouch and cut and ended up having a very uncomfortable experience. I asked for layers to shape my face and Amy was very nice until she asked me how I felt about the cut as we got closer to the end. I answered politely but honestly that the cut was not quite what I envisioned and asked if we could cut shorter layers. At this point the mood shifted as Amy became defensive and frustrated, saying she gave me what I asked for.For context, I am a black woman with 3A hair. During the appointment I said that I may come in for a blow out in a month and she emphasized that I should specify “extra thick, extra curly.” I try to be direct when booking hair appointments because I have curly hair and actually came into the salon to book this appointment. If specification was needed, I would think it would be noted at that point. By the end, I practically ran out of the salon after paying. Overall I was dissatisfied with the cut and the color but my main issue is that I was made it feel like my hair was a problem, and I was to blame for the appointment taking longer than she anticipated. I have been to salons where the stylist was not used to dealing with my hair texture but have always been treated kindly. I have never left a negative review before but as someone new to the city who was looking for a salon I could trust, I really don’t want someone else to have a similar experience.
