Lovely walk with fantastic views. Roughly 5k. If you take the 2nd bridge at the west side, it cuts back through the woods and joins the main path again at the edge.

Great place for easy walks round resivoir and to see wildlife. Free parking . Can also walk from here round the Wayhoe resivoir for those that like to extend a walk note not as flat as Entwistle

Turton and Entwistle Reservoir
An easy 2.5ish mile walk around the reservoir starting from the car park and not hard to navigate as it literally follows the banks of the water. The car park and narrow lane in does get congested at peak times so best to get there early and enjoy a little more peace and quiet. It was a beautiful clear day when we visited although very wet and the bridle path around the reservoir does get muddy.

Probably the most photogenic of the local reservoirs, well kept and with paths, stairs wooden platforms and rails updated often. The path round the water's edge is mostly flat as part of it was once an old tramway for the quarries. There are also other tracks through the woods and up to Yarnsdale and the Fairy Battery climbing area. The other way it's easy to loop round nearby Wayoh reservoir as the car parks are adjacent. Sometimes the water is prone to the green algae so look out if you have a dog loose.

This is a part of Entwistle Reservoir. You can walk around just this part or you can walk around all 3 parts of the reservoir. The water gets higher / lower in different seasons. You can choose to walk greater or shorter distances. There are no walls between the path and reservoir. There is parking.

A very popular and sometimes busy local beauty spot. Path around lake can be very narrow and muddy in areas. Avoid at peak times unless you like crowds.

Can’t believe no one has uploaded an image of this yet! What a hidden gem of the reservoir!
