Benfleet Garage

Went to Benfleet Garage to get my seat repaired. When I got home I looked at what they had done and they had just applied TAPE to fix my seat on a metal mechanism. When I complained about it he stated that there was no tape applied when there clearly was. I knew exactly what needed fixing and he was telling me there was no tape on it, baring in mind I paid £120 for this repair which is just unacceptable when they did such an unprofessional job. I have no idea how the people at this garage are even qualified. They also scratched TWO parts in my car and denied that they had. They started to be abusive towards me and told me to never come back to the garage. AVOID AT ALL COST, they will damage your car and not repair it. Very threatening and unprofessional.

DO NOT use this Garage. I booked my car in for a mot and service later found out it had not been done at this garage but one in Chelmsford. Questioned whether my running light had been checked I was fed some story of sometimes love they work then they don’t then they start up again. After getting in my vehicle I was assured the light was working only to find out upon my return home it wasn’t. Then 2 days later got into the vehicle it was juddering the engine service light came on followed by the dash lighting up with all sorts of warning messages. I duly phoned the garage and was told they couldn’t come to look it at today but would be there tomorrow. I waited until 10am nothing so phoned was re assured they would be coming out. Phoned again at 11.30am was told by the man they were doing me a favour coming out and then he started to shout told me it was my fault I must have left the lights on and it was a battery issue. I was followed down to the garage by a relative and had no need to turn the lights on. When I explained the car had been in working order before the service the man shouted at me told me I was making him irate before I informed me he was the mechanic and needed to look at the vehicle to find the fault. He then told me well we might look at it next week if we have the time before hanging up. He then phoned back assuring me he would be out before failing to attend or even phone. Having called the aa they asked me if I had been charged for new spark plugs. I took this to mean they either hadn’t been changed or left loose as the cylinder was firing incorrectly sending a message to the cars computer to protect the catalytic converter and then the error messages. I gave this garage the benefit of the doubt last time I used them after they fitted an incorrect battery less than a year ago to my vehicle and breaking down shortly after. Absolutely no customer service promises made and not kept and blame attributed to customer. Also they have written on the mot certificate miles instead of Km a matter I now have to get rectified. I attended the garage today to collect my spare key I wasn’t even offered an apology. Use this garage at your peril!

Brilliant at first, I really thought I'd struck gold when I purchased a car from them.However, just 6 months later the cambelt has snapped when I was on the M1 in, on my own, it went from 70mph to 40mph extremely quickly, I could have died. AA cost £550 in total to tow it back to my home town.I messaged them saying they've sold me a car that was only fit to drive for 6 months (even though they serviced the cambelt and WP when I bought it, and said it doesnt need changing until 150k miles, it's done 93k so far), and I asked to negotiate the costs (did not ask for a refund, just that they contribute towards the costs of repair as it's either a whole new engine or a write off). They refused and wont accept responsibility. Personally I think help towards costs is better than a manslaughter charge.May just be a fluke incident, but I now have no car after buying from them. I'm now also signed off work for a while as its hugely affected me. Just be careful.

I rate these guys highly have used them for donkeys years now and they have done all of my cars vw Touareg, merc c220 , Ford Mondeo from mots to brakes and clutch’s never had any issues.Always helpful prices are pretty good and there decent blokes tbh.Keep up the good work lads.

Stay Clear!!!! Do Not use!!! Took my sons car in for an MOT, Not once did they say to me that they do not carry out the MOT's onsite in fact they drive your car to Galleywood !!!! What on earth is going on, my son works very hard for the money he can get only to find out that his petrol tank has gone down due to them driving 32 mile round trip. Contacted them only to have someone on the phone whom wasnt bothered.Will be in contact with VOSA.WILL NEVER USE THESE GUYS AGAIN.

Took my car in for a snapped cambelt, they were able to look into the engine, replace the cambelt and fully service, mot and get the car back on the road in a couple weeks. Very impressed with the work. Thought the car was done for but now it runs like a dream again.

Unfortunately I cannot give 0stars, DO NOT USE!! I booked my car in for an MOT at 10am and didn’t have my car back until 2pm, when I dropped the car off there was 40 miles of fuel, when I picked the car up I only had 1 mile left, I then found out they took my car from benfleet to Chelmsford to get the MOT done, which wouldn’t be a problem if they had told me that was the case I could have put enough fuel in so I didn’t have 1 mile when it was returned, when I collected the vehicle I was rudely told the vehicle had failed, when I looked at the failure sheet the things it failed on were pathetic, I took the failure sheet to 4 different MOT garages who all told me my car shouldn’t have failed, and that the garage only failed Because they we’re trying to earn money out me thinking I would just get the work done with them, very rude, very unprofessional and overall absolutely disgusting

They topped up my a/c at a cost of £83 2weeks later stopped working booked in to get it sorted, drop it of at 8 am 4 pm not done they said the bolts on the engine pan was rusted and might brake when being undone not a problem, following day rang them around 12 they said they was having problems finding the leak, said it sounded like it might be the condenser so they might have to keep the car over the weekend and also the front bumper would have to come off so the price for this would be £370 so I have paid £80 for the top up lost 3 days work the part cost around £75 and don’t forget had the car a day and a half and done nothing, so I picked the car up and had to pay for an hours laubor £60 when I returned home lifted the bonnet removed the plastic casing and there sterling at me was the condenser so I recon another 5 minutes and you could remove it.Not best pleased and would not go or recommend them.

Thanks guy's. Made a difficult MOT run smoothly. Thanks for fitting the seatbelt that failed the mot.If you're in a hurry just know that these guys are busy juggling a lot as well. I don't agree with the negative comments on here. Q: Did they do the job they were paid to do? Did they do it right? Well if so turn the negativity down a notch. They are mechanics not guest service experts. Geez!!!

Extremely professional! Went to the garage today to look for my first car found what I wanted and got it! Highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a car.
