Three Pound Cottage, The Thatched Dartmoor Holiday Cottage
Fantastic setting, lovely cottage with thoughtful touches - for example a supply of Three Pound Cottage" local walks maps and instructions. The village of Lustleigh is charming as were all the locals we met. The food at the local pub is good quality and generous - as were the ice cream tubs from the local shop! We shall be returning for further visits

A cosy, quaint place to stay, like stepping back in time. We had a fantastic week in the cottage and look forward to returning one day. The owners were warm and friendly and very helpful with lots of knowledge of the area (like walks, places to eat and visit etc) supplied. Loved all the little touches too like the food hamper on arrival. All in all a wonderful week! Thank you for the memories.

Absolutely fantastic break at Three Pound Cottage! Beautiful accommodation with absolutely everything you could possibly need! The showers were fab and the beds extremely comfortable! Have recommended to all my friends and family - a week of absolute bliss!I returned feeling thoroughly relaxed and revitalised! Can thoroughly recommend the Cleave pub for a pint - and the village of Lustleigh is truly stunning! Definitely deserves 5 stars!!!

My wife and I have been to Lustleigh 5 times: the last three we stayed at the practically perfect Three Pound Cottage. And we can't wait to go back. It has an ideal location in a beautiful and quiet village. It is at the center of numerous great walks, a few steps from a terrific country pub, a few steps from a tea room you must go to, and only a very short walk to the church and village shop. The fit and finish of all the rooms and features are of the highest possible standard. The retention of period features with modern convenience is very well done. The house is sparkling clean. Michaela and Brian do all they can to be sure that their guests have a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We have stayed all over the UK and Europe, and this is our favorite spot.

Three Pound Cottage, The Thatched Dartmoor Holiday Cottage
What a lovely welcoming cottage! We had a difficult journey stuck in the traffic and arrived later than planned. It was therefore such a good feeling to arrive at the beautiful cottage. We felt welcome as the landlords had provided tea, coffee, milk… and wine! What a good way to unwind and start our relaxing stay in Dartmoor. It felt so homely with the quaintness of the old times but the facilities of modern life (easy access to wi-fi, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, iron, plenty of hangers, good bathrooms…).The cottage is very clean, the linen smells nice and fresh, the towels provided are extra soft! The décor is typically quaint English cottage with thatched roof, timbered ceilings, lime washed walls and wood burner, even down to the small details of antique ornaments. It’s like travelling back in time. What a bonus to have the walks already printed for us. It was easy to explore the moors locally. We came across beautiful landscapes and wild life. Magical!Lustleigh is a quaint hamlet with very friendly villagers. There is a church, a dairy shop with fresh and local products, a pub and a village archive for those interested in the local history. As the cottage is situated at the heart of the village, you can enjoy the bell ringers melodic tunes on Thursday night and Sunday morning. Amazing! Thanks to Michaela and Brian, the very friendly and accommodating owners, for renovating such an historical building and let us share the experience!

Three Pound Cottage, The Thatched Dartmoor Holiday Cottage
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this property just prior to Christmas 2017. Having received extensive information from the property owners, our journey into the quaint village of Lustleigh was straightforward and stress-free. Equally, our arrival was well described, with regards to access to the property, local amenities, parking and so on. Having gained access to the property, albeit in the cover of darkness, we were greeted by an 80's style rotary telephone in the hallway, which immediately took me back to visits to my nan's house during my primary school years. Moving into the lounge/dining area we found the wood burner with a generous allocation of logs and kindling, plus an abundance of information regarding local shops, attractions and walking routes. The living room area is a great example of the careful balance of original features and modern touches, with the original granite staircase leading up from the left side of the fireplace, and a modern wooden staircase from the hallway on the right. Once upstairs, you will find the three sleeping areas, beautifully decorated and furnished with luxurious bedding. In the well equipped kitchen downstairs, as well as all the crockery, pots, pans and utensils you might need to cook your own meals, there was also a traditional wicker hamper, loaded with a bottle of fizz, local scrumpy and other treats and goodies to enjoy during your stay. If home cooking isn't your thing, the local tea room and charming village pub are literally just a stone's throw away. If you do eventually prise yourself away from the comfort of the cottage, you are blessed with the most beautiful unspoilt countryside right on your doorstep. The narrow streets, winding paths and thatched properties of Wreyland are accessible immediately to your left as you leave the cottage, with footpaths leading from the area to babbling brooks, mossy covered boulder fields and parts of the nearby disused railway line. Venturing further afield will take you to the rocky outcrops of Haytor, the well-visited tourist attraction of Canonteign Falls or maybe (if the budget allows) a distinguished afternoon tea at Gidleigh Park (which I can highly recommend). We would not hesitate to visit Three Pound Cottage again, owing to the fantastic experience we both had there - highly recommended!

This cottage is picture perfect and just as lovely inside. The situation couldn't be better - beautiful village, great pub, tea room on the doorstep and an art studio as well! It's just on the edge of Dartmoor for great walks, and within 30 minutes drive of Exeter and the coast. The kitchen is well-stocked, the beds are comfortable, and there is underfloor heating for extra comfort. We didn't need to use the wood-burner but I can imagine it makes the cotttage really cosy in winter. A great find and we will definitely return

Three Pound Cottage, The Thatched Dartmoor Holiday Cottage
This was our second stay at the idyllic cottage in this equally idyllic village. This extremely pretty cottage with it's quintessentially English thatched roof is full of modern comforts inside, including underfloor heating, a log burner and all the modern Wifi and communications so necessary in this day and age. If you can bear to leave this cosy, intimate environment, the Cleave pub is just a two minute stroll away and this year the food was very good there. During the day, the Cleave itself offers a variety of walks ranging from very gentle to quite demanding with outstanding views and a feast of woodland wildlife all on your doorstep.Lustleigh is a very friendly, extremely pretty village with a buzz about it - the residents just stop to chat to you which is great. The cottage is maintained to an extremely high standard, is very spacious without losing it's centuries old charm. The owners are very keen to make sure nothing goes wrong and provide lots of information about walks and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend this as somewhere to stay.

Three Pound Cottage, The Thatched Dartmoor Holiday Cottage
Wonderful cottage and the most fully equipped we have ever stayed at. Having a Chef as a partner he always wants to take away our entire kitchen as he can't live without certain utensils. On this occasion we didn't need to. Beautiful location and will definitely come and stay again. Loved the peace and quiet. Local shop was very well stocked and not too expensive. Only used the pub for drinks but again a lovely old building. We stayed away with our 4 Year old and loved the fact there was kiddy plates and cutlery as well. The Kids play park behind the shop was also great but we were out most days anyway. You have made the cottage feel like a home away from home, thank you
