I was very interested in buying a retirement flat at Homenash House and visited 2 recently. However I learned two things which put me off and which potential buyers should be aware of. The estate agent was not open about these problems. Firstly the service charge has just been increased by 60%. The estate agent didn't mention this but I was fortunate enough to chat to a resident. The annual charge for a small flat has risen from £2300 to £3700. Perhaps worse, the management company has apparently stolen a lot of money which belonged to the residents. I was told that this money had 'disappeared' from the residents account but for 'disappeared' you can read stolen.
