Really wish I could give this review on the basis of just the funeral service alone in question and not the whole series of events surrounding it.The funeral itself was beautiful and the gentleman that carried out the funeral was wonderful.Unfortunately that's as far as the good comments can go, the funeral directors however has not been a positive experience.The widow of the man whose funeral this review is in regards to contacted Wilson and cooper to enquire if her late husband had arrived with them and to give her details. She asked during this call if they had a date yet for his funeral and was informed that a date had not been set at the time if this phonecall and it was then agreed that Wilson and Cooper would therefore contact her with the date once it had been confirmed. Unfortunately that never happened. His widow had to call the crematorium who were more than happy to give her this information as she was his wife!Wilson and Cooper have stated that they were unable to give her this information in accordance with GDPR & CMA regulations.We have looked into both of these regulations on the GOV website.Upon contacting the governing bodies that enforce these regulations, they have been able to clarify for us that to inform a the widow of a deceased gentlemen does not cause any breach of these legislation.We have furthermore made contact with other funeral directors within scunthorpe to further clarify with them, and they have also been very clear that the date and time of someone's funeral should have been shared with their widow.We understand that his wife was not the client of Wilson and Cooper but we also feel that the compassion and respect that was shown to the relative that booked the funeral and their immediate family should have also been extended to the Gentleman's widow and other family members.I went into speak to Adele personally at Wilson and Cooper to request his wife and her son be allowed to have flowers travel with the coffin within the herse to the funeral. Adele was very nice to me and confirmed this was something they would be able to do.Unfortunately this was not the case. On the day the flowers we had ordered were placed flat on top of the horse carriage and were completely out of sight.The in-house florist from Wilson and Cooper had to point them out to us as nobody could see them (see picture)

We would like to thank you and your team for organising and carrying out Mum’s funeral arrangements. You took care of every detail meticulously and made the process so much easier to bear at such a difficult time. It was very much appreciated. The coffin flowers were really beautiful as were the printed Orders of Service. We were touched with how respectful both you and Angela the celebrant were towards Mum in the service. Your recommendation of Angela’s services just fit Mum’s circumstances perfectly. Thank you again.

Never had to plan a funeral before, so when my young son passed away Adele and Steph made the whole process so bearable. So friendly and let us plan a lovely young send off. We had daily visits with family and friends to write messages on the coffin. Even took the 3 crazy dogs in. Amazing, warm welcome every time. And the Xbox flowers was amazing. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for us.

Adele, Steph,Alan and the rest of the team were outstanding with their care and attention throughout the care for our parents who sadly died 10 days apart and managed to arrange a joint funeral for them both. Professional throughout and caring . Would definitely recommend them. Thank you

All the staff at Wilson and cooper are amazing.They made the hardest of times so much easier.Adele and steph are so caring and went above and beyond to make our dads funeral just perfect.The floral tributes were incredible ,people still talk about them.We could never thank you all enough for everything you did for us as a family ❤️❤️

The whole team at Wilson and Cooper were truly outstanding. They showed compassion and respect throughout the sad time of losing my dad. They were able to help me with all my worries and concerns and nothing was too much trouble to them whatsoever. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for making this journey so much easier and with such a personal touch.
