Had very noisy gearbox. My friend who had his own diesel repair business in Liverpool for many years recommended Top Gear Transmissions from his own personal knowledge of the business and its reputation. From booking in for a road test; getting an estimate and explanation of the work; then having the repair completed was superb. The price was within expected estimate. Would definitely recommend Top Gear Transmissions.

just been to this garage upon arrival meet mark and ernie,mark proceeded to take my vehichle for a drive to diagnose fault(was told it was possibly gearbox fault by different mechanic)mark diagnosed as more than likely a drivshaft bearing, put it straight on ramp and said bearing was noisey , priced part up and gave me a price which i though was very reasonable agreed to do the job,just returned home ernie phoned me an explained that they could in fact just get the bearing separately so didnt need to buy whole shaft so job would in fact be a bit cheaper than quoted.I'm flabbergasted at how honest and genuine these guys are very rare you find a garage like this five stars isnt enough for these fellas in my opinion

I have used this garage twice in the past, many years ago. Once for a clutch and flywheel and once for a drive shaft. Both times the repair has cost a lot less than I expected and has been done to a very high standard. It's clear that the owner runs a very tight ship and the place is very well managed, all staff were more than polite, and once again the owner is very knowledgeable and it shows that he has mastered transmissions.Highly recommended, and will always be my go to for future transmission repairs!

Took my car here and ernie couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed both my clutch and gearbox needed essential work. He fully explained everything to me in a simple way for me to understand as a woman! Excellent service and I was quickly able to book my car in to resolve the issues.
