Bought a 2nd chart for £5 and paid him. 30secs later he accused me of stealing it, even after checking the till. So if you buy from them get a receipt!

New guys in there, in the bloke who looks like Mr Burns is no longer there and the shop is looking alot more modern! Chatted to a very helpfull guy called Steve I think, went above and beyond to help me out

1st class service and daves knowledge is excellent his shop sells second hand and new marine equipment at a very reasonable price I think he is probably the only marine shop in town and it's a bonus that it's sits on the right as you drive into the marina over looking the inside moorings so not only a fantastic shop but fantastic views definitely have a look around hes even got fishing tackle for sale so win win

Ordered a generator from them, unfortunately the courier mess them around and owner himself went all the way to Hythe depot to pick it up and deliver it to us. Awesome service.

I frazzled the impeller of an outboard engine in a big swell and overheated it. A Mercury 5hp Sailpower.Marlec replaced the impeller and serviced the engine.When they'd finished it sounded like a new engine.I have since motor sailed from Dover to Eastbourne, the engine is running superbly and has not missed a beat.Very good job.

I still hope ...if you are lucky enough to read this: stay away, do not buy, he is a scammer be careful, but that if they already caught him ... he is looking for it! do not do business with him, for your sake ...

I left my outboard motor with Marlec to be serviced. 3 weeks later I returned to ask how where it was and was told it was nearly finished but he was awaiting a part and would phone when ready. I never received a call. I didn't need the outboard by then as it was winter so I returned in the spring. I was then told he has SOLD my outboard because he didn't think I was coming back! Since when is selling someone else's property legal?? He couldn't remember what he sold it for so offered me £60 and refused to offer more. I'm speechless.

Sadly, like many other reviewers have found. David is a con artist posing as a businessman. If given half a chance...He will lie. Cheat you. Steal from you. Stay well clear - or you will be another unhappy reviewer.

Bought a propeller of these guys on ebay. After 3 working days nothing has arrived. I have called the shop and mobile but have never had the courtesy of them being answered. I do hope a parcel turns up tomorrow as boat has been on the dock a week now. Hopefully Marlec will read and get in touch. Communication needs to be improved.I feel that I should update this review as it turned out there were extenuating circumstances for the owner. He had been taken into hospital quite unexpectedly so had now way or could not be expected to communicate with me. He actually contacted me from his hospital bed to make appropriate arrangements. Given the situation I feel my earlier review cast Marlec in a poor light which is unfair. So I'll finish by thanking Marlec for their best efforts and hope to do business again.

Absolutely excellent service from Marlec. Spares and advice supplied to repair my 504 wind turbine were second to none. Would recommend Marlec products and back up customer service every time.
