Flourish Walled Garden at St Catherine's

Visited the cafe with a friend. Ordered food and sat in the courtyard where there was one other couple. When the food arrived, my friend’s order was wrong and the waitress realized it had been sent to another table, apologized and said she’d get another. 10 minutes went by, whilst I ate alone and the cafe filled up with more people. My friend enquirer about her order and was told she would have it shortly. Another 10 minutes went by and all the new customers were served bit still nothing for her. She finally told them she would have her order as a takeaway, as it was taking so long and was told they ‘were very busy’. It was disgusting. A handful of lettuce thrown in a box, no coleslaw, and a mangled up toasted sandwich. No apology. Have eaten here before and it was fine but have no desire to return any time soon.

The girls in the café were very polite and friendly and the sandwiches and coffee were spot on. The garden centre and walled gardens are lovely, and a nice chap who volunteers there called Ron was very helpful and made our visit all the more enjoyable. Thanks Ron!

Plant stock is cheaper and all money is plowed back into improving the site. Nice restaurant on site and food, staff are good.

Bought such a lovely hanging basket here. So happy with it and the wonderful service received. In the winter they do wonderful poinsettias. Would recommend to anyone.

Very impressed. What a peaceful yet vibrant space. Raised beds.Cottage garden planting. Vegetable beds. Planted up and paved seating areas with a sensory mix of unusual and colourful shrubs and flowers.

Beautiful, peaceful and tranquil are the words which spring to mind. Well stocked garden shop, wonderful tea room and friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand if any advice is needed. Would have no problem in recommending this place to any one. Tea room is also dog friendly and all profits go back to the community bases project Flourish which is an organisation that helps people with mental health issues...

I really like coming to this site. Lovely walled gardens, cafe, antiques shop.

Perhaps not the best time to visit. Very few staff. We didn't see anyone to pay if we wanted to buy anything. However it was a surprise. A tranquil walled garden in the grounds which still contain psychiatric hospital units & a hospital for the elderly. There are refreshments available. It's a lovely & unexpected facility for visitors & patients in the adjacent hospitals. In one sense disappointing, in another amazing.

Been a few times now. A really lovely cafe and the gardens are nice. Really friendly people. Claire from the garden centre is really nice always chats to my grandson when we see her.

Called this morning for the first time. What a find. Green house with lovely home grown produce, plants and gifts for sale. Well worth a visit. Next to it is the Flourish cafe, gorgeous home made cake. Also sandwiches and snacks. Tables outside available. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
