LNER

I have travelled a couple of times on LNER from Kings Cross to Darlington and Durham and on both occasions very comfortable and a delightful journey. Tickets a bit expensive but at least you can book your seat online and choose which coach you prefer.

The Azuma trains are amazing and the standard class feels like first class! Great prices with a railcard, only £19.50 to Leeds per person return. The first class has good food and reclining seat.

What a pleasant surprise. After jumping on a train going g completely the wrong direction, the staff were more than helpful and solving the problem, gave me a free coffee, phoned a colleague on a southbound train, and helped me rectify an issue all of my own making. Amazing customer service. Keep it up!!

May 15th 19:35 Dundee to Leeds:Appalling rude and aggressive staff:I was shouted out to get off the train for bringing a bike on without a bike specific reservation which I didn't realise I needed (and is also free). There were free spaces for the bike, for the entire journey and would not have made any difference but was shouted out by the manager guy to leave as I hadn't book. It made no difference if my bike was there or not, I was also threatened to be fined £400 a min for delaying the train which arrived late. They were willing to be charged about £1200 rather than letting me bring a bike on and using a free service which I didn't book. Serious power trip for the old angry white guy a pathetic way to act.

Worst train company in Britain, which takes some doing. They’ll happily sell you a ticket, but will cancel your train less than 24 hours before departure and ruin your travel plans.Getting ‘the next available train’ isnt much help if it’s 30 minutes later and you have connecting trains to catch en route.Nationalise LNER and put passengers interests first, not the greedy shareholders.

Comfortable service. Ok food. Reasonably clean although my table hadn't been cleared when I sat at my seat despite staff with telly standing 2 chairs away, I had to ask her to clean the messy table which she did.Small space for my case but I managed.Charging point at my table. Well lit cabins and all on perfect time.

Absolute joke. Train journey from London to Glasgow was horrific, stuck on the train with no food or water at the bar. Stuck on several stations for 1-2 hours at a time. Sometimes before the station. Stuck waiting in Edinburgh for a taxi to Glasgow as they couldn’t take us further, zero explanation. Took 3 hours waiting in cold and wet in Edinburgh (in an outside queue!) waiting on taxis they finally arranged to pay for. Offered us a complimentary return trip BUT you have to book that journey 3 months in advance! Absolute farse
