Lilac Restaurant & Wine Bar
Picked this superb place because of a mention in the Guide Michelin and honestly thought they deserve a Bib Gourmand.Tucked away in a cellar in the High, the classification as a wine bar doesn’t do it full justice. It’s a fantastic restaurant with tapas style food and they also have a great wine selection. The staff were extraordinarily nice and engaging and we felt most welcome.Very strong recommendation to book in advance to not miss out on this experience.

Harriet Mansell’s Lilac restaurant and wine bar in Lyme Regis is a must if you staying here.I booked a table a few weeks ago as it was for a birthday meal. We arrived earlier than our booked table so that we could try out of some the cocktails. We were greeted by friendly smiling staff and shown to a cosy sofa area where we enjoyed one of their cocktails. We were not disappointed - imaginative ingredients and very nicely presented too!Lilac offers an amazing menu of small plates to share using seasonal locally sourced produce. The dishes are beautifully presented, full of amazing flavours to treat your taste buds and you can just keep ordering! We have previously eaten at Robin Wylde (which recently closed) and experienced Harriet’s amazing talent for great food. It was lovely to see Harriet, who is always smiling, and have a chat. I hope your next venture (whenever that may be) is as successful as both of the restaurants that we have eaten in to date.Thank you to all of the team for making the evening so enjoyable.

Amazing - nice local and international wines. We had the Devon 'Shoreline', it corrected drastically my opinion that Brits can't do White Wine. They can, very well in deed.Added some lovely nibbles as absolutely delicious homemade Focaccia with fennel seeds combined with olive oil and roasted garlic plus dorset coppa. Both outstanding amazing.Service was welcoming and friendly. Place is cosy and small in a very good way.We will come back and absolutely recommend Lilac.

This quiet, intimate restaurant, tucked away in a cellar on the high street, is simply superb. The food and drink were excellent, and the friendly, engaging service made our visit a delight. We turned up without a booking, so space was made for us at the bar. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the unusual menu, which comprised mainly tapas-style plates for sharing. All of the ingredients seemed to be normal"

Delicious and well thought-through menu of varied fresh, flavoursome and different tapas-like dishes. The seasonal cocktails were fab (esp in happy house!) and the service was great. Would highly recommend!

SERIOUS FOOD. Wow! Probably some of the best we've ever eaten. I kept swearing it was so good and we were wiping up the last drops of oils and sauce with our fingers, like kids. We went for brunch one day which blew our minds (turkish eggs and kedgeree) then headed back for lunch (rib of beef and mushroom pasta) the next day! Superb, thanks guys

All I can say is…WOW! Lilac is a hidden gem that last night served me and my friends one of the best meals I have ever, EVER had. Truly epic, totally awesome and absolutely delicious. We ordered the menu. Greedy I know, but when food tastes that good why wouldn’t you?!! Highlights included the roast pork, the courgette flower, the Hake, the burrata, the hummus, the chocolate truffles, the cheese and carrot cake and everything else!! I live in London. Currently working on an excuse to get back down to Lyme Regis as cannot wait until I can go again. Thank you Lilac for making Saturday night.

Didn’t eat there so can’t comment but had a couple of cocktails during happy hour. Had a Mexican Marigold and a New Fashioned. Interesting flavour combinations.
