Not recommended. I don’t understand why this pub has such good reviews. Mussels were frozen!! Onion rigs were also frozen! ‘Rustic bread’ was two slices of loaf bread. Forks, knives and napkins were literally thrown on the table for us to take. House wine was dreadful.Service was average, the inside is very modern with very little light.Good location only for a beer outside.

Visited yesterday for a family birthday. I am disappointed to say that the service was absolutely shocking, numerous requests to the waitress for drinks orders to be taken but to be rudely told she was busy so many of us had to go to the bar to order, half the desserts were finished before the rest of us received ours. One of the chocolate brownies was just a runny goo (the others were lovely) and when mentioned to the waitress, she was very argumentative and told us “that’s just what happens when they are microwaved” - interesting that this didn’t happen to the other ones… The same waitress was extremely rude to an elderly member of the family by insisting something was stated on the menu, which in actual fact was not. Food on the whole was tasty, as usual, but the appalling attitude from the waitress and slow service really let the place down.

Nice location and pleasant garden with tables and seating. Plenty of parking. Lodge is a beautiful old building, but inside is modern and seems recently decorated and very white. Maybe to lighten the room but does detract from the olde world ambience. Meal good and freshly prepared but nothing outstanding. Prices quite reasonable and service efficient.

The waitresses were not very friendly which dampened the occasion somewhat but I can't fault the food which was cooked perfectly and we were all served at the same time. There was very little food for people with wheat and gluten tolerances which was disappointing. The portions were huge but they supplied hygienic containers, when asked, so that we could take the remainders away

We went the for a family meal to celebrate my grandson's first birthday the food was amazing bar staff where grate. Unfortunately one customer took it upon himself twice to try and tell a 1 year old to be quite and stop making noise. Could not fault the manager as he came over and said my grandson could make as much noise as he wanted and it wasn't a problem. Great friendly staff and great management

We went for my mum's birthday. The menu choices were excellent and really well cooked and presented. Value really good and the staff excellent. Probs about 43 years since I was last there, I might have to up the average if I'm gonna make it back.!

My parents stayed here overnight whilst coming to visit us from Manchester, they are pretty fussy usually (!) but had nothing but good things to say about their stay. We had a meal there too which was great, hospitality and staff were fantastic. Parents said that the breakfast was one of the best they’ve ever had too!Definitely recommend, beautiful building, great food lovely place and great staff

We ate here on a Saturday night mid September. The food was excellent. The staff friendly and service very good by the young waitresses. The pub is beautiful outside but unfortunately hasn't been decorated or furnished inside in keeping with it's age. The lighting and furniture destroy it's character. Could be 5 stars with some tweaks.

Last minute find for a family lunch. What a find, beautiful Thatched public house. Warm, welcoming and cosy interior. Staff polite and helpful. We all had roast dinners which were plentiful and tasteful. Our 2yr oldhad a lovely varied menu to choose from and was vocal regarding his ice cream, That's nice" was repeated many times .A special thank you to Rachel
