Danby Castle Barn Wedding Venue

Our wedding was a success thanks to this stunning venue and amazing staff. Our dedicated wedding planner really helped us feel prepared and did an amazing job on the day, it was stress free for us and we were able to fully enjoy the moment. They are plenty of nice accommodations around and local taxis aren't too expensive as long as booked early enough. They have their own chef and the food was excellent, our guests were all very impressed.

as a North Yorkshire wedding photographer this is one of my favourite venues. The location, the venue, the staff - all Top Notch. Its just FAB. Love working here and can't wait to return very soon.Go check it out - you won't regret it

After attending my granddaughters wedding at Danby Castle, I have to say it’s the most stunning setting for a wedding.The views are amazing, the atmosphere is extraordinary and it has charm by the bucket full.The wedding ceremony in the old court room was beautiful, the registrars were amazing and the service was beautifully done.The wedding breakfast was great, cow pie, very fitting for the castle, and very tasty.The staff were amazing, Andy the manager a true gentleman, very professional and charming, my wife took quite the fancy to him. He was an amazing host, nothing was to much trouble, a true star.His staff were so helpful and hard working too, They where all a credit to the castle.We would highly recommend Danby Castle.Thank you for making it such a lovely unforgettable day.

We only needed to look around the one venue because as soon as we walked into Danby Castle we knew it was the place for us. Everything about it is completely stunning.The views are uninterrupted and awe-inspiring, the castle ruins are so cool and the kids/big kids loved exploring them. The ceremony room is cosy and intimate whilst still fitting plenty of people in, and the barn for the reception is completely gorgeous. We loved that the dancefloor and bar are in a little add on barn, so you don’t need to do the whole switching around of tables and rooms as required at many venues, leaving plenty of space for people to sit away from the dancing if they need a break.. There’s a brand new, gorgeous getting ready room which was perfect for the bridal party to have their makeup done in the morning. There are quirky little areas/separate barn spaces to use so you move from one area to another throughout the day. Having exclusive hire of the whole place, set in the middle of nowhere, with everyone you love in one place is beyond amazing.The staff were all wonderful in the run up and on the day and loads of guests commented on how fab they were. A MASSIVE thank you to Rachael our coordinator who was so SO helpful at every stage, always contactable and responded quickly to any questions, always totally lovely. We were given free reign to set up ourselves the day before, but you could add as much or as little the venue as you want and it would still be breath-taking without a single decoration added.The food was incredibly tasty, canopes of Yorkshire puddings and sausage suited us to a tee, and the pie and mash main was complemented by everyone there (I am running out of superlatives here!).I cannot believe how lucky we were to get married at Danby Castle. If you are reading reviews to decide whether to book here, stop looking and do it. Best decision ever. Can’t thank you all enough.

From start to finish, you guys went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that we had the best day of our lives.Firstly, the food was absolutely brilliant – our guests are still raving about it! The tasty dishes and beautiful presentation really added to the overall experience.We also want to say a huge thanks to your amazing staff. They were professional, friendly and always on hand to help whenever we needed them. What we liked most was that they managed to be attentive without being intrusive, allowing our guests to feel completely relaxed and able to enjoy themselves.A special mention goes to Andy and Ffion, who were true superstars on the day. They worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran seamlessly, and their attention to detail was commendable. Whenever we had a question or needed assistance, they were there in an instant with a smile on their faces.We are truly grateful for everything you did for us. Our wedding day was perfect, and it was largely due to the incredible team at Danby Castle. We will cherish the memories forever.

Went to a friend's wedding. The staff were wonderful, happy, and accommodating. The food was fantastic and the drinks inexpensive. There was a dance floor for a boogie separate to the dining area, and a lovely location. The carpark is in a field, a short walk from the venue entrance; however, there is a driveway into the venue to allow for drop-offs next to the entrance. Definitely recommend for any function.

Danby castle really was a 'dream come true' wedding. The venue, the veiw, the staff! That place has the whole package. The atmosphere and care to detail on the day over delivered. We couldn't of hoped for anything more. Andy was exceptional at making sure everything went the way we wanted it to. But from the beginning the whole team were very welcoming, they made us feel so comfortable, open to our ideas (and got excited with us) whilst we tried to make all the personal, touches we visualised come alive. What a magical day we had at Danby Castle & Barn in August 2023. The venue is stunning and this is complimented by the amazing staff that work there. Throughout our day Ffion (our wedding coordinator) made sure the day ran smoothly without any hiccups. The food throughout the day was delicious and everyone commented in particular how much they enjoyed their pie and mash (and honey glazed carrots!). The site itself is perfect with different areas for people to spread out in but, the main attraction for us was definitely the breathtaking views of the hills. We were desperate to get married outside and the weather allowed us to do so (although the ceremony room inside is also lovely!). I cannot recommend this venue highly enough in terms of price, venue, staff and food!

Flying visit to see the castle ruins. Has links to Katharine Parr, sixth and last wife of Henry VIII, as she was lady of the Manor in the 16th century. Castle was built in 14th century. Has good views of surrounding countryside. Was worth a quick peek, many thanks for allowing me to check it out.

All in one wedding venue good staff, great venue good staff, nice food. It was typing down with rain which made it 'cosy', cos no one in their right minds was going out in the rain. Parking is on a sloped field, which after the rain was a mud bath, so was not fun getting cars out wearing a suit.
