Banoge House

My family and I (11 of us in total) stayed here for just short of a week. The owner, John, was extremely warm, welcoming, and helpful. He had advice for us on how to hit touristy spots for the best price possible, he told us great stories, stayed late to have a fire burning for us, and made us breakfast almost every morning. We felt extremely comfortable here. My wife and I have four children (ages 5-11 years old), then my parents as well as my brother, his wife, and their two month old baby all stayed here. They had plenty of beds and bedding and were able to customize the rooms to help fit us comfortably. If you're looking for a weekend getaway or if you are world travelers looking to experience the incredible hospitality of good kind folk, then this is the place for you. John felt like a family member. He was never intrusive, always warm, always available, and always quick to help. We have been all over the UK and Ireland over the last three weeks staying in at least 6 different places, and this was our favorite purely because of the people. Such a great experience.

Nice staff, great location, big rooms, generally very nice!

Characterful and quirky accommodation in an interesting and rambling building. All the rooms are different and sympathetically decorated. This is a guest house rather than a top class hotel so missing bulbs or towels are issues to be fixed by talking to John, the friendly owner. He can cook you breakfast or you can make your own - super flexible for groups and families.

I do not recommend anyone to book here.I had this booked for a very special occasion and made sure I booked it well over a year in advance.I paid a deposit to secure it and a few months before I was due to stay I wanted to touch base with the owners to make sure all was still good, only to find out they had double booked me with another group who had booked for a week.They cancelled my booking and refunded the money leaving me to have to find an alternative which is more expensive and not what I had wanted.The owner has clearly cancelled my booking because they got a better offer. This is not how you run a business and I do hope the owners listen and honour first come first serve in future.

Fabulous stay at Banoge House with a fantastic host. The house is super cute and cozy, each room is individual and has it's own character. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a great stay at Banoge House. Very spacious property, warm and beautifuly decorated rooms, great facility. We really enjoyed our celebration with a group of friends and family members. The owners went above and beyond to provide us with everything needed. Avril was so helpful and kindly posted very dear to me item, which I have left behind. Thank you for this. I would highly recommend this fantastic hotel and will definite visit again.

I can only say, if you haven't stayed here before, then make that booking today! We needed somewhere to stay last minute and stumbled upon this absolute gem. Pulling into the car park, we were greeted by the most amazing John (host)He could not have done enough for us. It was late, we hadn't eaten - he ordered us a chinese, went to the local off-licence for drinks, came back with the goods and ended up having a drinks with us in his kitchen. He is one of the most hilarious guys, telling his stories, everything was so funny!The house and gardens are beautiful, aged to perfection.His cooked breakfasts are second to none, with both myself, my partner and a few of the other guests all sat around a big table in John's kitchen, having the chats and the laughs - just brilliant.Laughing so much, we were late leaving, and actually missed our ferry back because of it! HahaBy the end of our stay, it actually felt like we'd stayed at one of our friends houses!The whole experience certainly made a fantastic first impression, so much that we will most definitely be back. Awesome!
