Old Nelson Brewers Fayre
The service is great. However, Sunday lunch I had on November 12 was disappointing. The carvery was less than average. I had the gammon which was a small portion although cooked ok. Yorkshire pudding was cold. All the vegetables were cold. Roast potatoes were coated in something I have not tasted before. Cauliflower cheese were tiny florets with tasteless cheese sauce. Gravy a little greasy also cold. I have Sunday carvery at other Brewers Faye restaurants that were better cooked than the Old Nelson. I suggest to take a look at the produce served before ordering. Just to add the food is better described as lukewarm.

Went for lunch today 01/11/2023 with a group of 6 others. First time for a while because the last time I went, well over a year ago, the meals and whole demeanour of the place were really poor. I don't ever expect too much of a place like this serving cheaply-priced trad" grub

Old Nelson Brewers Fayre
We came for a Christmas meal for members of a group, there were a lot of us and the staff were brilliant. Really welcoming and friendly and very accommodating of our needs and particularly those with mobility issues. They were all really helpful and patient and the food came out in good time considering how many people they had to cater for in one go. I would thoroughly recommend the Old Nelson as a brilliant place to have a group meal especially those who might be more vulnerable or have mobility difficulties. Thank you.

Old Nelson Brewers Fayre
Visited here a few weeks ago in the middle of a work crisis and the lady who runs the place was an absolute angel- she helped me out so much, was so kind and hospitable and really went the extra mile. I was blown away by how lovely she was and how much everyone went out of their way- letting me stay there whilst I worked everything out and being super friendly and welcoming. Had a lovely coffee- would absolutely recommend this place it was a dream to find it ! Thank you guys for saving my day :)

My mum and I often come to the Nelson. The staff are amazing, particularly Clare and Abbi and the very friendly waitress whose name I didn’t catch. Food is lovely and good value and they always check in to make sure the meal is ok. Thoroughly recommend!

Me and mum went to the Nelson this evening, staff member Anna was very accommodating and sat us down in an area we wanted. She also ensured our meals came out to us in a timely manner, very polite, thanks Anna !

Old Nelson Brewers Fayre
Dined here over the weekend on Friday night, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning.Their menu is adequately varied with a menu similar to weatherspoons basic pub grub, though the quality of the meat mains was superior.Their breakfast, however, was great value for money. for 7.99 you can have an unlimited continental breakfast, including pastries, pancakes, crumpets, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, and I’m sure this is not exhaustive.For just £2 more you can have unlimited hot food too! Beans, sausages, hash browns, bacon, mushroom, black pudding, the works!The only thing I had and didn’t think was good value for money was the max and cheese bites. Unpleasant texture and very bland and expensive.

Old Nelson Brewers Fayre
This was a great Brewers Fayre experience with good quality food on our visit (better than other restaurants in the chain have been to recently). The staff were friendly & helpful, a lovely location opposite the scenic Stratford Park, decent sized car park and set in an impressive building, at least compared to the more usual modern ones that the chain normally occupy. If you like visiting Brewers Fayre then this one is recommended!
