Oakdale Care Ltd

My nan was here for a few days, her room stunk of urine and the place was near on impossible to find as its under a new name which isn't advertised! when she moved to the new care home they were appalled at the state of her when she arrived there after being under their care! Not impressed!

Relative was neglected. She is not mobile and within a few days of being there she had a fall, leaving her face very bruised, due to being left in an inappropriate chair (incident reported). Found her in the same chair two days later almost falling out of it again (incident reported). Left so dehydrated her tongue was stuck to the roof of her mouth (incident reported and staff decided to then monitor her drinking). The next day we found her shut in her room severely dehydrated and with a high temperature. Drink monitoring paperwork not in place and she was unable to reach the drinks left out on her table. Admitted to hospital with sepsis and pneumonia, all signs of infection missed by staff but were easily noticeable. Sent here by the hospital for assessment and staff appeared not trained to be able to deal with her condition. Some staff helpful but would not send anyone here given the choice. Seems to be more for people with behavioural difficulties. Would give no stars if possible.

The management and staff at Oakdale have been fantastic at taking care of my husband for the past few months. The care, support and compassion my family were given has been amazing. Despite the challenges faced in taking care of my husband (dementia), they have given him the respect and care he deserves which in turn has made dealing with such an unfortunate turn in my family's life a lot easier to get through. Staff not very attentive to our dad's dementia needs,often left with out water or drinks as he cannot ask or get himself, also hes always cold & left being cold even though we keep telling them he needs a cardi or blanket on him in the day, place very old & in need of alot of up grading. He was sent here from hospital so would not be our choice.

Langdale View is a beautiful large welcoming care home with responsive staff under the guidance of a highly experienced manager. All the residents look well dressed, recieve activities and stimulation daily. There seems to be a cheerful buzz around the home amongst the staff and the residents. Seeing pictures of residents on a day out at the beach just confirms this.

I'm a care home singer and sang at the Oakdale Christmas party in Dec 2022... the room was well decorated and there was an amazing spread waiting for the residents after my performance! The staff were very helpful with me as I was setting up. It was a festive atmosphere and I think all the residents enjoyed their Christmas Party.

I have been visiting Oakdale Care (View) now for four years providing holistic therapy treatments such as gentle head massages, Reflexology massages, hand massages,foot massages, manicures, and pedicures to all the residents – a free service paid for by the lovely owners to all the residents in their homes. I love visiting Oakdale Care because of the lovely family atmosphere there. Everyone looks happy, the staff are always welcoming and checking on the residents, and the residents themselves always have smiles on their faces and always tell me many stories about how much they like their carers and enjoy all the activities they get to do. Of course, they absolutely love the massages! Well done, Oakdale Care, for the great care you take of your residents, it’s so heart-warming to see!

I would like to thank the management, nurses, care and activities staff for taking care of my mum for the past 6 months. She is very well looked after and cared for, when we were allowed to visit she was happy and joined in with the activities. Once again I would like to thank everyone for their hard work during these times.

Oakdale care has a caring and loving staff team that is well led by Paddi who is the home managerThe residents absolutely love Paddi and she always goes the extra mile to make sure that they are happy and that they have all that they need, her door is always open and you will normally find a resident sat in her office having a cuppa and a chat .There is a warm and friendly atmosphere within the home and the staff team genuinely care for the people who live at Oakdale it is not just a Care home its a Home and they are a family

A beautiful home, with professional management and staff. Lots of activities for all residents and great food served. Highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a care or nursing home for there loved ones.
