Must admit I preferred the old Empire but its moved to a more central location.Sound and lighting decent and the venue is located next to the Barracks multi story car park. This will cost you a quid to park.Drinks prices are expensive but this is hardly worth mentioning as nowhere is cheap anymore.A decent array of acts booked but I've yet to see a good turn out in my visits.2 stages in 1 room. Nice.

This was the first time I'd been to a club years. Its a simple club, great lighting and fantastic sound. No need for fancy decor. Decent bar prices too. Friendly security staff and bar staff made the whole night fantastic.

Wow what a great venue, it was local and intimate but still fun and grungy. Saw Maisie Peters. No queues to park, get in or at the bar. The staff were friendly even the baan even if he gave a stare because I wanted alcohol free beer. You can see from most angles as it has a raised stage as long as you can manoeuvre around the tall peeps. Pity some people think it is appropriate to talk all the way through. Definitely will be back reasonable priced, easy to park and lovely people.

Went to watch the K's at the Empire, my first visit and here are the positives - The band was amazing despite the cold, The beer was good and came naturally chilled, lovely friendly atmosphere (people were huddled together)Here is the one negative (it would have got a 5). .....it was sooo cold. Outside temp was -2 inside temp was 0 to plus 2. Even one of the bands asked for the heating to be turned on. If you visit this venue in the winter dress as if it is an outside gig.

Good venue. Looks like a great bar over the entrance but did not try it when I went to see PiL.Strange how there are escalators that don't move. Must be running on a tight budget

Went to watch Kiefer Sutherland and he was brilliant and well worth going to see, he seems a very genuine person and very down to earth. Venue was good and I liked it as it was not to big and it felt more intimate. Drinks at the bar were a good price. Would definitely go again if someone else was on that we wanted to see.
