The Winchester Hotel & Spa
I stayed at the Winchester Hotel and Spa for two nights recently whilst working in the Winchester area.I thoroughly recommend this hotel based upon value for money, service and its facilities. The staff were very helpful, courteous and immaculately presented. The facilities are spotlessly clean, my room was well furnished and really comfortable.I had a buffet service hot breakfast in the restaurant and dinner in my room via room service, both meals were great.I really can’t speak highly enough of this hotel…..my one and only complaint though… a member of staff forgot to bring my pot of tea that I ordered to my table during breakfast….. that’s it!I’ll definitely be staying at the hotel when next visiting Winchester.

Beautiful hotel room, near the center.Castiel on the front desk is the personification of hospitality. He was so welcoming, patient and helpful. Everything a hotelier should be. We were greeted with an amazing smile after a long train journey.Would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Had a lovely stay here. Reason for the 4 star is while the room was spacious and clean the amenities weren't great, and looked a little dated. Service was brilliant, staff were polite in the spa, bar, restaurant and reception so many thanks. Location is excellent if your looking to visit winchester but its views consist of a car park. I would still definitely recommend though like I say had a lovely stay here with my wife.

Many of the rooms have no proper window and the room lighting is poor. We changed rooms to get a window. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The large car park outside must be paid for which is annoying. We had to queue for breakfast as no tables were available. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from Winchester High Street. Overall, the hotel is ok and would be good if they charged less. We did not use the spa.

This place is an affordable 5* hotel in my book! It was a 5 minute walk from the train station. Which I appreciated. When you first walk in, it greats you with poshness. Women gathering for afternoon tea and a quaint bar. The decor is splendid. I enjoyed the spa area and jacuzzi. I enjoyed my massage, at a very reasonable price. I was expecting £40 more lol. Alfred restaurant was top of the line in my book! It was literally the best squid I had ever had. That spicy chili sauce was amazing and cooked to perfection! The breakfast was nice too.The staff are kind and well dressed. The only bad mark is the room itself. Dim lightning. No real view. Only one outlet I could find. Everything was dusty. The shower drain doesn't drain fast enough. And the TV reception was horrible. Maybe don't have satellite in this weather. But the bed was very comfortable which I appreciated. The smoking section needs an upgrade.I will still brag about staying here when I get back home to the States. This place was amazing! Highly recommend if you want to visit Winchester ! Thank you!

Great hotel, superb location for the city centre and very friendly staff. Greeted by a lovely lady called Elsa on reception. Room was lovely and spacious and a great shower. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and again great service from our waitress Lauren. All staff were very helpful and will definitely be back. Thank you.

Hotel is renovated fairly well but the staff are lacking training. Whilst all staff were polite, they all lacked the proper training to carry out their jobs. Cutlery was handled by the eating end which is really unhygienic. Drinks at the bar were not poured correctly with mixers being filled to the brim. Housekeeping did not clean thoroughly although the beds were made very well. Pillows are completely flat and beds are super soft. The location is good for walking in to the city centre.I would say this is a 3* hotel using its renovation as a cloak for its 4* rating.

My partner and I have made it a tradition to celebrate our anniversary in Winchester, and for years, the Winchester Hotel and Spa has been our go-to destination. This year, we were excited to stay at the hotel, especially since they had renovated the Spa and the rooms. However, the experience fell a bit short of our expectations. We were assigned an accessible room, which ordinarily isn't an issue for us. Nonetheless, the design of the bathroom means there's water everywhere after a shower, making it less than ideal. Additionally, considering it was an accessible room, we expected the emergency alarm cord to be positioned within reach, but unfortunately, it wasn't easily accessible. One thing we actually think could be better is the addition of bathrobes in the rooms, which we previously found convenient for our visits to the Spa.The breakfast remained consistently delightful. Although there was a setback when the kitchen was closed for renovations on one of the days, the management informed us in advance and promptly offered a refund for the inconvenience. We have always found the staff to be approachable and incredibly helpful, which certainly improved our overall experience.

Had a night away catching up with family and exploring Winchester, travelling both by car and train. Not a long walk from the station and there is a car park right by the hotel.Extremely kind and helpful staff made this the perfect place to stay. A little bit of a walk from historic Winchester. The hotel, is clean, bright and welcoming without being overwhelming. Rooms are good and whatever you thoughts about this, they have the bounciest beds I can ever remember in a hotel room to boot!Breakfast was also just what was needed to set you up for the day too.

Two night stay with my mum for her birthday.Great location.Staff were very attentive and were interested in you as a guest. Food was amazing. Catered for a Gluten Free diet with an Afternoon Tea and also am evening meal. The young waiter was really professional.Spa good, had a massage and this was amazing.Definitely recommend and definitely will return.Thanks.
