Shetland Guided Tours

We spent 2.5 days with Anita. We did the brewery & cake fridge tour & the north & south tours.Her passion for the islands made the trips very enjoyable, learning lots about local history, culture & way of life in Shetland. We docked at Lerwick on a cruise ship and had booked a private day tour with Anita for four of us. Prior to the day communication with Anita was fabulous. Anita picked us up from the port of off we went. Anita's knowledge of the local area is great and we stopped at a number of places to take beautiful photos of the stunning scenery. We had spectacular weather and Anita made sure we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Anita.

We spent a day with Anita touring Shetland Island. Her itinerary was perfect! She showed us beautiful views, took us to a cute cafe and gave us a personal tour of Jarlshof. The whole time she was telling us about Shetland, both personal stories, historical and life now. I loved every minute and Anita is a lovely person to spend the day with!

Our time with Anita was exceptional in every way. She truly brought the history and spirit of Shetland alive. At our request, Anita developed a customized tour that centered on the lifeline Shetlanders provided through the Shetland Bus to aid Norwegian resistance fighters. I had an excellent tour of South Shetland with Anita. She picked me up in her beautiful Land Rover right from my B&B in Lerwick, took me on a quick tour of the town (including many of the Shetland " series filming sites

Anita was fun! She shared so much about Shetland in just a few hours. We very much enjoyed our Croft visit to meet Shetland ponies, sheep, and sheepdogs. And the Original Cake Fridge was a real hit! Thank you , Anita!

Communication in planning for our tour was great. When we were delayed in getting off the cruise ship, Anita was understanding and accommodating. She met us (two couples) at the dock and, over the next four hours, gave us the perfect balance of stops with guided commentary and opportunities to have time to explore on our own. We saw some of the sites where the Shetland series was filmed, as well as historical sights and places that reflected the natural beauty of the island as we explored the southern part of the island. Anita is friendly, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable about the history, landmarks, and culture of Shetland. Especially appreciated the personal connection and human interest stories Anita added to the details most guides provide.
