Great meal, make reservations first as they get super busy. But it's totally worth it, we did just walk in. So they can't be faulted. The food and beer was deliciousiouso. The service was slow but they looked way understaffed so they got all 5/5. Not their fault. Just remember it's worth it.

The mussels and langoustine were fine. But the fish in the fish and chips didn’t seem fresh and were kind of soggy. Our service was late. We had an entire family eat and leave before us when we had arrived before them.

This is the informal eating space in The Royal Hotel, and it strikes a good balance. There is no table booking here, it’s walk in only on a first come basis. The food comes from the same kitchen as the Boatshed Restaurant next door, so you know the quality here is going to be high. The Braised Beef Stack was my personal favourite. It has beef, black pudding and BBQ sauce over french fries in a Poutine style, and it is delicious. Service is snappy, and the drinks keep coming. Recommended.

I’ve only had the ramen here so far (it’s my ultimate comfort food) but that alone is incredible. The staff are always friendly, professional and welcoming. The restaurant is cosy and inviting. I highly recommend dining here!

Stopped in randomly after arriving on the ferry as it seemed the busiest spot for food. We had a really lovely lunch of mussels and shared a bowl of chips. A couple of drinks each too, slightly on the pricey side but we enjoyed it so didn’t mind, service was a little slow as we sat for 10 mins with no menus and had to ask to order food.

The service was lovely & maybe it's nicer to sit inside, but for a £48 2-person takeaway the food was very bad. The chicken wings in particular tasted they'd been cooked a long time ago.

Great food, welcoming staff and friendly. Price for kebabs, roasted veg, salad and flat bread was definitely reasonable. Would come again.

Great restaurant with a varied menu from classics to modern Scottish, Asian and Mediterranean. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the portions were large. Everything came out hot and fresh and looked like it was made on the premises. One of our party needed gluten-free food, and although the menu had limited options on it, our server was able to offer some other options that could be modified to make them gluten-free.

It was ok....but not a rush back sort of situation. Great local ingredients but a few small issues. No check back so was unable to point this out. We were seated quickly after a comfortable wait on the sofa. The fish pot thai dish was under seasoned and bland but fish cooked well. The haddock and chips dish was brilliant and shows the standard can be high. Maybe we were unlucky.
