Walked here from London bridge under a heavy rain, but we got compensated by their delicious pie and mash! Two plates and 2 soft drinks: 15£80! Wonderful

Was in London with my son for the first time and we wanted to try this classic. We were welcomed by two wonderful gals and given a brief history of pies in London. My son loved the mince pie and mash which was a surprise as he is quite picky most times. We also enjoyed the ambience of the place with the wooden benches - all around a thumbs up from us. We will hopefully be back at some point! Greetings from Germany

The worst food experience in London! The gravy tastes like snot with starch. Mash potato was absolutely dry and tasteless. The pie was fatty, and the filling is not made of meat, but of some kind of cartilage and lard. I wasn’t able to eat it.

Visited this pie and mash establishment as I’ve heard many people speak highly of it over the years. However as a visitor to many pie and mash shops monthly over a year, I thought this was okay but nothing special which was the impression I’d been given. Inside was nice and traditional however the food didn’t have that X factor and tastiness that some have, the mash was good though. The ice cream on offer was quite poor quality too. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and parking was easy and it was open on a Sunday ( many aren’t).

If you're in the area and hungry, it gets the job done. Service was quick. We were underwhelmed with the pie and liquor (very bland) compared to some of the other classic pie shops in London.

If you like pie and mash, this is for you. Still going well over 100 years after opening and keep the food real. If you haven't tried pie and mash, give it a go, very reasonable price, and you might be a convert.

Overall Experience1. Pie and mash and liquor - pie didn’t specify what’s inside. It’s mushy and tasteless. Liquor is a bit blend and watery. Mash could be smoother.2. Jellied eel - once in a lifetime experience. Too fishy for me3. Service - very friendly staff4. Serving time - 15 mins5. Affordability - affordable5. Atmosphere - clean

Definitely an experience, worth the trip. Super friendly staff, even gave me a free eel to try.The pie is crispy and well baked, superb mash. The eel was akin to tuna and not bad honestly. The liquor is just not my jam but add chili vinegar and it was a great meal.

Lovely service, in this classic traditional pie and mash shop. I felt the food lacked seasoning, but maybe my taste buds are getting old! However, there was salt, pepper, and an excellent chilli vinegar on the tables. All in all, a must when visiting London.

Old-fashioned pie and mash shop. Really enjoyed the food here, and the service was just impossibly friendly and homey. My wife and I felt so at-home and welcomed by the two kind ladies behind the counter. We probably would have stayed and chatted longer if not for such a busy schedule. She told us to flip the pies upside down and add the vinegar, a good touch for sure. The pie and mash were both delicious, and the sarsaparilla was worth a try too!
