Albany Outdoors

I have been accessing the Albany for nearly 10 years, it is a fantastic facility for all outdoor and water activities. Awesome wet and wild weeks for children and plenty on offer for adults too.

I had such a wonderful time kayaking for the first time in around twenty years yesterday that I felt compelled to write a review and let everyone know so you can do it too!I booked an adult paddlers group session but despite being the only attendee was encouraged along and had a great 90 minutes re-learning the ropes and being shown a beautiful stretch of the Thames by instructor Jerry who was patient, professional, funny and personable. Aside from his outdoor pursuits expertise, it felt like I was on tour with a fantastic nature guide too as he told me all about the wild birds, geography, ecology and points of interest on our route.If you're at all interested in trying out kayaking, I 100% recommend it and I can't wait to book my next session ASAP!

I thoroughly enjoyed my two recent Thursday paddleboarding sessions for adults with Jerry and Russell:-).They both teach with a great enthusiasm, great humour and passion and are great ambassadors of Albany Outdoors!!!!The instructions they both give are easy to follow, their classes are small (8 people only) and consist of a range of people with either zero paddleboarding experience to somewhat confident paddleboarders but you wouldn't know it!Under their skillfully taught classes all joiners seemed to become skilful at paddleboarding in an instance!!!Sessions start promptly, run for a little over 1 hour and a half and are incredibly good value for money!Albany outdoors is an absolute gem!!

The instructors, Jerry and Russ (and others) are all brilliant. So patient and explain everything so that people of all levels can understand. They manage to make it so fun too, mixing in games and great routes, with variety to always keep things interesting. I've tried, general purpose kayaks, sea kayaks, canoes and other craft. Such a big choice. Also done my one star and two star British canoeing courses here, as well as many Saturday leisure paddler sessions with adults and also my kids in the family group. It's a place for the while family right on our doorstep in Kingston and because it's a non profit place, the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when taking into account the high quality if instructors.

Easy to follow, trustworthy teaching methods by friendly and professional staff, allowing an enjoyable experience on the river, whether it’s by kayak, canoe or paddleboard.

Great for Kayaking and Stand up Paddle Boarding. Would recommend for families and adults.

Adult Paddleboard club evening session. Ideal for those who are returning paddlers but want a bit of reassurance or a group environment. Really lovely team of people @Albany Outdoors. Highly recommend as good value for money. They have 2 types of board (narrow/ wide) but the boards are not the inflatables that you see elsewhere.

Both my sons attended a week-long multi activity summer camp and loved it. We'll be back for sailing next time!

Their are many activities and club with sessions Thursday evening and Saturday morning. In the holidays you can do multi activity doing bush craft,stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking and swimming! You can also do your RYA stage 1-3. They have laser vibes, laser picos and more
