From walking in we knew we had made a mistake the place is filthy, the blinds needed a good clean and cobwebs everywhere. Ordered food it came on cold plates, I had chicken hunters style which usually means a mushroom sauce this was served with overcooked bacon a bbq sauce which was not nice and a overcooked chicken breast my wife had mushroom stroganoff which wasn’t to bad but the rice had not been washed off so it was starchy and salty, there was no garnish at all, no chopped parsley nothing. We should have complained looking at the staff they did not seem interested. The young waitress had on a shirt which was food stained and all creases. Like I say we should have complained but wife doesn’t like to cause a scene. Definitely will not be back.

We had two courses. The roast dinner was very good and the meat was very tender. It was definitely worth the price. There was a good choice of desserts. I am gluten-free and catered for without a problem. A very enjoyable lunch with friends.

What a gem! Called in on off-chance & was able to park in carpark in motorhome for free. New pub owners of 3 weeks couldn't do enough. Offered to fill our water tanks, & very dog friendly, even went to shop to buy more dog treats for my pooch! Menu is family friendly, well priced, plus veggie options. From bar, with pool table, to quieter saloon, to sunny conservatory & enclosed beer garden (dog enjoyed that!) The owner, John & his wife, and staff offered a friendly welcome to everyone who came through the door.Highly recommended.

As others have already mentioned, the service was appalling. Sat in the restaurant for 15 minutes waiting for the menu, the waitress only had two other tables to deal with but seemed to ignore us, in the end went up to the bar and asked for two menus. After another long wait of 15 minutes or so the waitress came up to us and asked if we were ready to order. In total it was about an hour from when we entered the pub to getting our food. The wife enjoyed her BBQ spare ribs but the steak in my steak pie was dry, the roast potatoes were hard and the vegetables under cooked. I'm afraid we will not be returning.

The food portions were massive, but my steak didn't come how I asked. The lasagne was a bit plain but was pretty decent. What really let it down was the service. We waited at the bar for about 15 mins. We were then sat down for 25 minutes after being shown to the table before even being greeted. The food then took 50 minutes to come out to us. We were ready to up and leave to be honest and just pay for the drinks. Waitresses were in the kitchen for ages and ages at a time, no one checked up on us and we had to go to the bar to get more drinks. One couple of ladies waited an hour just for their starter alone, we were going to get dessert but didn't bother as we didn't want to wait even more. Then when we went to pay, another customer had to go and fetch a server .It's a real shame because the food was alright, but we won't be coming back again. For an over £40 meal, to have that level of bad service was a really disappointing time, especially considering we were on a date.Just overall felt really awkward and bit gutted we paid so much.
