A dream

Only shop open at moment. Staff were so good and covid measures done very well. Still made the visit very enjoyable.

a rainy Friday morningI woke up at 07:30 but yesterday the remnants of the Ardbeg Kelpie still seem to be in my mouth.The rain-soaked ginkgo leaves that fall on the head on the way to work float like Ardbeg's golden color according to the whiskey glass.In a lonely and dreary spirit, a memory of childhood suddenly dawned on me.Whether it was a reality or a dream, it is now faded from memory, but the scent of that time is still clearly remembered.In the basement of his paternal grandfather's wooden house in the ginseng city of Geumsan, there was an underground warehouse well over 100 years old. My grandfather, who was a hunting hobby, was told that the walls of the warehouse were stuffed with animals, and I had never been down to the basement before that day.One day it rained all day, like today, and it was foggy weather.I was left alone in my grandfather's house when the old people went out.Smoke rose from the basement.I could smell herbs and paprika from my nose.Unconsciously, I was drawn to the underground warehouse.The first peat smell of opening the doors of the underground warehouse over a hundred years ago rolled around my body like a wave, and I fell unconscious on the floor.How long it had passed, and there was a broken bottle of disinfectant lying on the floor, and a thick smoke completely blinded me.I managed to get up and my hands were so thirsty that I picked up the green bottle that was lying on the table. The smell made me look like a disinfectant, but my throat was so dry that I picked it up without realizing it.My esophagus and my stomach were burning,A wave rolled in from the mouth.The pain, for a moment, was an indescribable fruit, the smell of flowers, made the mouth and nose pleasant with the smell of pit. Soon the smoke was lifted, and the green disinfectant bottle in my hand had this writing on it.A.R.D.B.E.G.

A really lovely place. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing. Didn’t do the tour, just went for sampling, drinking and eating. Surprised other distilleries haven’t jumped on the bandwagon of food like these guys have, and it was a welcome thing. Great hearty and mostly local and traditional meals on offer, all set in what I believe was an old peat smoke house. Truly lovely.

My husband and I stayed at the Sea View Cottage for five days in November It was definitely an experience of a lifetime to stay at the Ardbeg Distillery. Obviously the place was immaculate, beautiful views, and well appointed. The kitchen was well stock and they provided us with some groceries and a complimentary bottle of Ardbeg whisky to enjoy during our stay. Emma was very welcoming and went out of her way to give us the best experience during our stay. Thank you.
